Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

I operated the Green Line westbound down Ceder St this afternoon without stopping for a bar signal. It was the first time I was able to go 25 MPH woohoo. LRV Op Dude, have you noticed continuous progress on the signaling issues? Many of us only use a small portion of the line a couple times a day, ...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

That makes sense; I was surprised by how many people didn't realize that the colored square meant something.

I have heard more that a few people comment that the Green Line trains should not be painted blue.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

The biggest issue I have right now is the inconsistency of the timings. On my way home tonight, the train I usually take was 5 minutes early, and I missed it by 30 seconds. The next train was 7 minutes late, so I needed to wait 22 minutes for a train during rush hour. You would think if they are wor...

Re: Hennepin Avenue (Downtown)

Looks like the pop-up park officially opens on July 11th. From the Hennepin Theater District website: Made Here and a Parklot officially launch at Summer in the City on Friday, July 11. In a few weeks, we will gather on Friday, July 11 for Summer in the City from 5-7 p.m., our annual supporter thank...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

On Friday I saw a train get stuck westbound at Harvard St waiting for a go signal while the traffic light went through an entire cycle. The driver ended up just blowing his horn and running the signal. There was definitely some issues with the signals on campus last Friday. It seems they have been ...

Is there any chance of ever getting rid of that parking lot in front if the Commons Hotel?

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

BINGO! Rode tonight Raymond to downtown Minneapolis and didn't stop at a single light until Downtown East! The train also did not appear to stop from Prior to Raymond either.

Re: Theater Garage Marquee Apartments - (Franklin & Lyndale)

Am I being dense, or is the theater space missing from these newest plans?
One of the pages has a cross section, and it appears that the theater is in there.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

That's why I have a bad feeling about the 24-hour service once the fall semester starts at the U of M. My guess is that quite a few muggings and assaults are going to happen at the stations where students commute to and from to late at night, and it's going to cause controversy. It will probably pl...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

I did send a comment into Metro Transit about the signal timing, and this is response I received: Thank you for your feedback regarding Green Line. We know that our customers are experiencing delays and we are working to make the appropriate adjustments. As you may know, prior to opening day, Metro ...

Re: Introductions

This is interesting. Metro populations weren't really something I considered until I moved here. I was going strictly on 2012 city limit populations from Google of 2.715m in Chicago, 392,880 for MPLS. Of course that negates St Paul. Living in Chicago, you can end up living in a bubble of sorts wher...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

A couple observations throughout the week: 1) This line is VERY popular. I have been seeing a steady increase in passengers each day on the trains I take. Many trips are standing room only. I am very curious to see ridership numbers. 2) Signals seems to be getting worse (maybe that means they are at...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

This mornings commute at 8am Eastbound from Government Plaza to Raymond, the train operator overshot the switches at the Blue/Green split and we headed down the Blue line for a hundred feet or so before stopping. The driver had to get out and run to the other end of the train and back us up, then ra...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Yep, the one I'm on is displaying it properly as well. Unfortunately I think we may have sat through multiple light cycles at 280 (over 4 minutes stopped)? There was an announcement today around 2pm that the train will be delayed to get back on schedule. It does appear that they are getting bunched...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Rode the Green Line to work today and (from Centre Village to Cleveland and University). Including walking time, only took 5 minutes longer than driving...not bad!

Unfortunately at 8 am the trains were pretty empty and had to wait for lights at Bedford, Berry and Eustis (got off at Raymond).

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

I went on an eastbound train this morning which ran really well after leaving Downtown East until Fairview. After that point, it got held up a lot. Heading back west was really bad in downtown Saint Paul, and I think the operator just pushed on through against the signals just before and after Cent...
