Re: University of Minnesota
I'm sure this has been talked about before, so excuse me if is has, but have there ever been plans to cap over Washington in front of Coffman to connect it to the rest of the Northrop Mall area? It seems like a missed opportunity.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
If ridership could increase by 20,000 in the future, how would congestion on the train be handled? I've been on a few three-train cars during rush-hour that were packed full (both Green and Blue). Is it possible to increase frequency a great deal, or would that mess up the traffic pattern?

Cool.
I'll be day-drinking to support Team USA and will definitely try to check out what's happening around TFS.

Re: MSP Airport
I'd wager 17/35 because it is close to the cargo areas, but 30L/12R is the only 200' wide runway so it could land there and just roll down the runway instead of using taxiways. Landing weight also plays a huge factor on the length of runway needed.

Re: Hennepin Avenue (Downtown)
Ah, so it is a park.
I walk it a few times a week and was wondering why they were painting the sidewalk and throwing pallets around.
It is much better than an empty space.

Re: Rumors!
The more I walk by our Big 3, the more I think, 'eh, they're not that tall, another two hundred feet would be pretty cool.' But, building out of necessity is still, deep-down, what I feel we should do. Realism is what has got the Twin Cities to this point, not mindless speculation. However, if someo...

Re: Atlanta
I took te MARTA from downtown to the airport. It picks you up in a bum park and cruises through an area I think would objectively be characterized as "rough." I'm sure it goes through some nicer areas too. The only nice direction is north from downtown. I don't suggest going west, either....

Re: Atlanta
From what I understand about Atlanta, is that the city is reliant on arterials and freeways as there really isn't a good grid. Additionally, the MARTA rail really only serves the central city, and some of the rougher areas at that. Exactly. There are only limited ways to get from one place to anoth...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
I've been lurking and reading for a long time now, but I felt compelled to share my recent, yet unprofound, realization:
$1 billion is equal to $1,000 million.
I know this doesn't apply to only the new stadium, but damn, that's a lot of money!

Re: Vikings Stadium
The Braves are moving to within 3 miles of my house. The location being at the intersection of two congested freeways and local surface streets, a regional mall, and miles of suburban strip-mall is going to be an absolute nightmare. To go anywhere by car, I will first have to check if the Braves are...

Both. It fully depends on the departure and arrival station.Do flights to Asia from around here (MSP or Detroit) go West over the Pacific or North over the Arctic?
