Re: Target Field Station
Forgetting about any comparisons, the entire point is that for what it actually IS, most people here agree it looks nice- but from someone who has used it several times it was poorly planned and executed in terms of function. Another example- why can't you get from the sheltered area below via the e...

Re: Target Field Station
Ok I gave this one a little time but now I have to vent- the logistics of this station are just stupid. Ticket machines not sheltered, so got poured on during the rain this morning by new platform. Missed the train by a second and sat there like a drowned rat while the driver motioned me to the next...

I remember a few years back the NFL actually cracked down on small public Super Bowl watching parties at churches and the like.

Re: Target Field Station
Not sure where to put this so this seems as good a forum as any. There is a crane up at the HERC and it appears they're painting it a less ugly color to match target field station.

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
I suppose "luxury" is a relative sliding scale, but at least if we are comparing it to the going rental rates for these projects, I wouldn't define any of these as luxurious. I'm not expecting Viking ranges and Poggenpohl cabinetry, but the appliances in the photos appear to be very averag...

Re: Target Field Station
Isn't that the point? Or is this actually a job and I haven't been receiving my paychecks?Yeah can we wait for maybe a few months before we say "the stairs won't get much use if any" we jump to conclusion a bit too much on here

Re: Target Field Station
It sounded as though they are leaving both operable - I believe to use at different times to separate blue and green riders? Not entirely sure. It would be ridiculous for a train to stop at both since they're separated by about 30 yards.

Re: Target Field Station
I had a chance to observe trains for awhile while showing someone from out of town to the light rail station just before the Twins game. Bad, bad, bad. I am struggling to grasp the logic here, but will continue to wait until the new station is fully opened to make final judgement. I watched three tr...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
Yeah, a before and after comparison would be especially useful here. Changes not standing out. Couldn't agree more. I'm pretty good with Photoshop, these new renderings tell me that all I need I do to win a job in public space design is add some green trees to existing photos and give the place a s...

Re: Target Center Renovation
along the lines of paying attention to detail in renderings -- i suspect that these were very fast initial concept renderings used to get project buy-in. For example, the 6th st sidewalk is actually a ramp to Target Field plaza and is not present in the rendering. Unless there are definitive plans t...

I got fooled walking up 5th avenue - the giant canopy was blocking "Field Station" and I started looking for a red cart to do my shopping near Shapco.

Re: Target Field Station
Speaking of PR, nothing should help more than the size of the massive target field station sign installed yesterday, something *ahem* truly fitting for Minneapolis' very own grand central station.

This was posted on another chain for its reference to development at 729 Washington, but I found it interesting because it seems that united properties intent to put a hotel at target field station is still very much alive? http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/www/groups/public/@clerk/documents/webconten...

Things are looking nice. Caribou branding is up on the out-building and there is some sort of pile of sculptural rock sitting next to it. There is also matching facade being placed on the viaduct that makes it look a little less "viaducty". The green of the sod and trees will be welcome be...

Re: Target Field Station
The Incinerator is in effect just another large building. My thoughts exactly. I would venture to believe that most people have no idea what that building even does! We do, because we are clearly more inquisitive folk, but to the average person, it's "just another large building." http://...
