You gonna leave us with that sushimo, or you going to fill us in on why people wouldn't want to move into a new headquarters with access to downtown and transportation?

Re: Plymouth Building Hotel Conversion - (12 6th Street Sout
High end hotels are good, they bring visitors with $$. Speaking of which, whatever happened to that boutique hotel conversion on first ave? Don't know the name, can't find a post for it but the building looks like it's been in semi-renovation mode for over a year.

Re: Dock Street Flats - (333 Washington Avenue North)
The retail tenants here are going to be a high end women's yoga type apparel situation and the Dunn Brother's across Washington (whose owner may/may not post here) which is moving here, and then the old Dunn Brother's will be occupied by some other high end bikes/watches/other retailer from Detroit...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News
I'd be amazed if you could sell any worse substance and call it pizza a mere two blocks from Luce. Guess it demonstrates the will of drunk people to immediately eat something greasy that is not normally edible when sober.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
I think everyone understands that if you don't like a restaurant's food, prices, atmosphere, etc. then you don't have to eat there. For the point of this thread which is dedicated mainly to urban development (and the growth of the North Loop) it was more intended to be an overall assessment of wheth...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
How many other places serve breakfast in the neighborhood? Cuzzy's, Be'wiched, and that's about it. Moose and Sadie's, Pizza Luce. Smack Shack and Bachelor Farmer on the weekends. Maybe they know some secret about pent up demand for weekday breakfast in the loop, but I've never seen a line at BeWic...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Yeah well you may be right to some extent that if it doesn't succeed it won't be because of the prices. It will be because there are much better options. More $ doesn't equal good food or experience. Give me black sheep across the street.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Hit up Freehouse now that it's open. Very mixed bag, because I want to like everything in the neighborhood. The space is quite large. While it was humming with people this week during opening, not sure it will always be a great space. Large windows and design help this a bit. The biggest disappointm...

Re: Target Field Station (The Interchange)
Nobody lives around here except for rich condo owners who are going to be driving anyway. Although I have agreed in previous posts that the cost/benefit of this project makes me raise an eyebrow, the way you put it makes you sound like an ass. Not sure what you consider rich, but if you mean enough...

Re: Block E
This is a fantastic improvement compared to what is there currently. Anyone ultimately responsible for designing/approving/funding something so architecturally unforgivable that it must be redone before 5 years of existence should lose their ability to practice. New rule. I hope the renderings are a...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
I like assuming that because things work in other cities they would work well here. I can see the concept working well in Seattle. At a Dunn brothers here it sounds lame. Unless like you say they completely change the concept, in which case they should change the name too because it would no longer ...

on the Dunn Bros thing - how much is a liquor license? probably don't have to sell much to make it worthwhile, but who goes to a coffee shop for a beer?

Re: Target Field Station (The Interchange)
Exactly my frustration! I was walking along the path from the direction of the river. When I got to the Northstar platform I realized the only way onto it or to the light rail was over the chainlink fence and a set of tracks. The shortest possible route was across the entire parking lot, cutting ont...

Re: Target Field Station (The Interchange)
Does anyone know why in this "interchange" there is no easy way to get from the main bike trail to the northstar platform or up to the light rail despite passing the station by 5 feet? This seems like a HUGE oversight/flaw they may want to think about correcting.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Seems like a great strategy actually. Market rate for a nice 3400 sqft loft around there would be a million plus, and instead of getting one lousy unit he bought the entire building for less than 2M with good paying tenants to boot.

Re: Target Field Station (The Interchange)
Nice that the Interchange architect thinks the project will be transformational: http://www.startribune.com/local/minneapolis/229629931.html But also noticed that in more recent renderings the retail buildings on either side of the 5th ave extension under the new viaduct have disappeared. I know the...

Re: 129 Plymouth Ave N
This lot is certainly a little more complex in terms of required cleanup, location and potential. At VERY least, I would like to see this proposed development hide its parking under or in back and push the building to the sidewalk. The fence-parking lot-building sandwich is incredibly unfriendly to ...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News
Just glad to find out I'm not the only one who doesn't read every article and post, since mnmike pointed this out two days ago.Apparently didn't read the article. The McDonalds has a line all during lunch. The problem is they are being evicted, not closing for lack of business.
