Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

Looks like a section on the Hiawatha LRT Trail that is missing lights will finally be added between 11th Ave S and E 26th St.

Great news! It can be a little unnerving riding through there at night sometimes.

Let's put the $200 mil towards some BRT. We already have 2 streetcars going through downtown.

Re: Uptown Restaurant News

WHS, I think I agree. Republic Uptown is not a 'fun' place at all. Happy Gnome, Muddy Pig, Devil's Advocate, etc. are far more enjoyable places to be if you are looking for extensive beer list. A true story about Republic: when the Seven Corners location opened, some clever kid at the law school no...

Re: Minneapolis Park System

Wow, I guess we don't have too many golfers in here. It would be shame to lose any of the courses. Many of us still consider them assets, as decrepit as they are becoming. Too bad we couldn't have put more of the golf profits back into the golf courses! Or at least some new range balls at Hiawatha. :P

Currently the goal is for a new restaurant called Locavore to open sometime around April in the space. They will specialize in local sourced ingredients.

TCF would be a great place to play, but I think they have an agreement with the neighborhood as to a certain number of events a year?

Re: LRT Disappointments

Yeah, the on-time performance was pretty bad this winter. Even on "nice" days. I also had a couple times where a train was supposedly delayed 10-15 minutes and it ended up being a half hour. I think it would be best to overestimate the delay. I would've taken a bus in both cases had I had ...
