Re: Interstate 494
Agree with the need for relief on this stretch of highway. I do commute using 494 and am generally opposite the heavier flow/direction of traffic. However, both 494 and 62 could use some form of relief. I would support MnPass along with greater emphasis of transit from EP to Woodbury.

Re: MSP Airport
Just speaking from my own purchasing experience, I believe MSP has been lower with airfares since airlines like Spirit and Southwest moved in. I can fly for a heavy travel season (Spring Break) on Southwest for far less than Delta and the planes are packed - no bag fees. But as for what is "fai...

Re: MSP Airport
No official announcement from Sun Country, but it appears they are adding a route to Portland, OR.

Re: MSP Airport
I think T2 gates are CUTE, however, Southwest is only set up at gates 7-10 with their unique boarding position pillars. I would imagine they have some temp process if they needed to use gates 1-6.
I am not aware re: T1 E gates.

Re: MSP Airport
Has that been officially decided? Last I had heard, there were a few options, including moving some T1 tenants to T2. But I also heard Sun Country would shoulder a couple more gates as well.

Re: MSP Airport
That brings AA to 35 departures this summer (searched mid-July). Nice to see, but Concourse E is going to be overflowing now. Maybe one or more of the airlines at E will move to T2 when the additional gates are completed this fall.

Re: MSP Airport
Just guessing here...Frontier must be assuming they can fill a plane to ORD with passengers that might or would fly Spirit. Then again, they have been chaotic, to mattaudio's point. Spirit keeps expanding as well, adding PHL and BOS for this Spring/Summer season. To my knowledge, they are bringing b...

Re: Freight Rail News and Happenings
Lower commodity prices showing impact here.
Hopefully BNSF keeps its workers trained during the furlough, making it easier to bring them back on without additional training.

Re: MSP Airport
7:15 and 10:50 departures are E175 aircraft and the 17:45 is E170. I believe US flew with E170. Good to see this route coming back with a carrier other than Delta. Sun Country flies to DCA as well. Throw in the fact Southwest just added two dailies to BWI and the MSP-DC routes are getting competitive.

Re: MSP Airport
I saw that too. Nothing new, but up to 27 departures in June now! However, in April/May, the BWI flight arriving at 12:25 will sit for four hours. In June, the times were adjusted to have the plane arriving later and turning back to BWI. So it's still a mystery if SW will truly keep the plane here f...

Re: MSP Airport
Southwest extends its schedule to August, tomorrow. A prediction (rumor) from A.net is that MSP will pick up a Dallas Love Field flight to coincide with the newly added BWI flights. I found this as part of a thread discussing a new destination from Burbank, being announced tomorrow. Here is the quot...

Re: MSP Airport
HOU would provide International, while DAL would not. However, one flight per day to each would be an excellent addition to the SW network. The customer base may not be overly strong in Minneapolis, but in each of the HOU/DAL markets, SW is enormous. Much of their loyal base would likely fly here as...
