Re: 1500 Nicollet Avenue - Dominium Development - 6 stories / 184 units
I really like this project. I think it turned out well and fits the neighborhood nicely.

Re: Nicollet Mall
It looks like the planters started being delivered last week. As far as I can tell, it looks like there are two sizes roughly the same size as the bollards outside the hotels at the south end of Nicollet. Not sure what kind of plants will be in them, but if I had to make a guess, I would expect some...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Often I've thought it would be neat to put an iconic large sculpture overlooking the 35W/94/55 mess of ramps entering downtown. I was thinking just south of the Sherwinn Williams building parking lot or near the corner of it. The idea is that as people coming into Downtown via the LRT or car their ...

I kayaked under the bridge on Friday afternoon. They were definitely working in the area around the old bridge and doing some piledriving, but it was difficult to see exactly what they were working on.

Re: Uptown (and LynLake) Development & General Topics
I would prefer The Mall be an art park/sculpture garden type space. A nice visual way to walk from the library to Lake of the Isles. It seems more fitting for the Uptown vibe than sport courts.

I agree about the stones. The sidewalk presence is odd on this building.

Re: North Loop Green - Hines - 350 N 5th St(?) - 36 stories / ~400'(?)
There are additional photos in the MSP Biz Journal article: https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2019/07/18/hines-releases-images-of-proposed-36-story-north.html In the third photo it looks like there may be a public garage (tho the letters are cut off) next to or maybe attached to the restau...

Re: 800 Washington Ave - 14 stories - 173' (Guthrie Ramp liner development: Reloaded)
It's still a good project, but I like the look of the shorter, original building better. It's a little too massive and bulky for me now. On the plus side, I like all the retail spaces. And it kept the pocket garden/green spaces. On the negative side, half the units on levels 4 and 5 look directly in...

Is anyone else attending Doors Open Minneapolis this weekend? What sites are at the top of your list? I'm still trying to figure out what I want to see. Plus, this weekend also has Explore Downtown Living and Art-a-Whirl. Busy busy.

I really should start keeping a list of all the ways Kenwood has tried to kill this project. The latest one I heard about is saving a rare bee that breeds in the rail corridor. But this was on Nextdoor, so that ups the crazy quotient.

No doubt it's going to be messy with the platform in the middle of the road. Seems like a pedestrian tunnel might be in order.

$700-$800 would be great. Sadly, these mini miracles start at more than $1,200.Honestly, I am their ideal client, being someone who moved in one car trip last time. If I found 350-400sf in an older building for like 700-800 bucks I'd be down for sure.
