Re: North Loop Neighborhood

My best guess is that it's actually this property: http://gis.co.hennepin.mn.us/property/map/default.aspx?pid=2202924240093 The article tagged "425 North Washington Inc" which is the taxpayer of this surface lot, as well as the two Duffey Paper Company buildings. Greco is listed as the ta...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)

With the increased costs, I assume the Met Council will have to adjust and re-submit their 2014 bonding request to keep the project on track?

They're going to have to raise that crane up, aren't they? It doesn't look very high.

Re: 4Marq - (400 Marquette Avenue)

Went through the Planning Commission on June 10th - http://www.minneapolismn.gov/www/groups/public/@cped/documents/webcontent/wcms1p-109456.pdf http://www.minneapolismn.gov/meetings/planning/WCMS1P-109426 Wonder when this will break ground. Any ideas? I wonder where they will put their staging area ...

Re: Target Center Renovation

Well back on topic - does anyone know if the Target Center renovation will increase/decrease seating capacity or add more luxury suites?

Re: Target Center Renovation

Yes, the suburbs are especially nice. Oakland County is one of the wealthiest counties in the country yet borders the most insolvent city in the county. I believe it is also the most racially segregated area in the country as well, with Oakland County being overwhelmingly white and Detroit being com...

Re: Northstar

I am unfamiliar with the Northstar's construction and St. Cloud as a city. Would connecting it to St. Cloud really make that big of a difference in the ridership numbers? Why wasn't it built all the way to St. Cloud in the first place?

Re: Target Center Renovation

Are Pistons going to decamp from Auburn Hills to join the Red Wings? That's been everyone's hope for a while, but it doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon. Illitch was poised to purchase the Pistons a few years ago when they were for sale after Bill Davidson died but decided against doing s...

Re: Target Center Renovation

it's the oddest thing i agree. the team and city both continue to mumble about being close and "it will eventually happen". probably some final details about who pays for what and responsibilties. but yea, this has really dragged on. i read the red wings and city of detroit have a deal fo...

Re: Green Line (Central)

"Art" will be installed at the stations this summer so I suppose each station will have something distinctive but yea, they certainly don't look like the Hiawatha stations which have those uniquely shaped shelters, features, etc. I personally like the uniformity of the Green Line stations....

With this, the Cambria showroom and whatever is going in on the ground floor of the NorthStar Center - Off Marquette, I think it's going to be a bank - 7th street is really filling out at the street level.

I think we will get a large (400+) condo project proposed before anything commercial but what do I know.

Re: Soo Line Building Apartments - (501 Marquette Avenue)

The skyway from the 5th Street Towers couldn't look more out of place. Wrong style, wrong colors, wrong everything. This building deserves better (read: nothing :)).
I think the same exact thing every time I pass by this building.

Site Plans, etc. are being reviewed for approval by the Planning Commission at 4:30PM today. After such approvals are given, I would imagine construction would begin fairly quickly if Mortenson intend's to complete it by late '14.

Re: LPM Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)

If, in late 2014, the apartment vacancy rate is still below 3% then I would have to believe that more apartment towers will go up - supply and demand. I read somewhere (here?) that being able to charge and fill apartments at $2/square foot is a general threshold for developers justifying new constru...
