Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
http://www.sehinc.com/online/rice694 Rice St and 694 interchange design This might have been out for a while but it was just brought to my attention. They plan to construct Rice and 694 similar to Rice and 36, but with roundabouts instead of signals. My thoughts: - the current status with multiple ...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium
There are (will be) 9 southern stadiums in the main rotation: Miami, Tampa, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Vegas and LA. Only Tampa has no roof, since Miami has roofing over the seats now. There are rumblings out of North Carolina for a new domed stadium (Final Four ready) which wou...

I'm just curious where they would move the west end to - line it up with 6th St, 25th Ave, extend it all the way to Oak, etc. And I'd guess it'd be the final nail in the coffin of Granary Road.

I'm pretty sure we've proposed different takes on this realignment several times on the forum. Weird to see an official proposal featuring it

They finally got Green Mill to move? I remember they were pressuring them to relocate to the then new wing while it was being built.

I remember back-to-school shopping at the TRF store. It was across Main Ave from a Ben Franklin!
Thankfully, Thief River never followed the mall trend. Although I always liked how they accomplished it in Detroit Lakes

Re: City of Minneapolis Offices Consolidation
Meh. I'd rather see the city tear down this ramp anyways. Government Plaza will look better surrounded on all sides with actual buildings. A smaller floorplate but taller building will work just as easily. It also doesn't break the skyway during construction as badly, and it probably saves a few hun...

Re: University of Minnesota - General Topics & Development Map
Yes, it was the Old Main plant I was asking about, didn't know they had just converted it. I wonder how much longer the coal storage building will stick around - they just built it when I was at the U ≈ 15 years ago
Still though, getting rid of those storage tracks would be great

How much life does the U's coal plant have? It sure would be nice to get rid of that spur through Dinkytown

I'll second this. Maybe a provision for a future highway BRT station?SInce both University and 4th are nearing the end of their useful lives, let's talk land bridge instead.

Re: 35W Freeway Lid and Air Rights Development
I'd be happy to start with a lid from 40th to 42nd: expand MLK Park and re-connect 40th across the void. Probably could extend it a bit on each end. I wouldn't want to do anything that would preclude adding a median BRT stop at 38th in the future though Not sure any kind of cap is possible south of ...

I don't think so. I didn't move to Rochester until '92, but Barlow's was a privately owned one-off. The weird layout in Rochester was the result of multiple additions over the years

Re: Fridley - Columbia Heights - Spring Lake Park
I thought HyVee was against re-occupying buildings... I thought they nearly always start from scratch. They reoccupied for the "Barlow" location in Rochester, but that was years ago. Well, that's what I was told... could be wrong information though. Yep, they bought out Barlow Foods in 19...
