Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
I've ridden the new Seward bike blvds a few times now and I was pleasantly surprised. There seemed to be way less car traffic on them compared to Bryant, 17th or Charles, and it also seemed to be moving slower. The blvds also connect nicely to Riverside and the greenway. Most importantly imo, they ...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
Anyone ride on the new ("bike lane closed" no more) Washington Ave bike lanes yet? Forgot to detour there yesterday. Also, they're now striping bike lane extensions on 26th and 28th between I-35 and Hennepin, but it's only partially done with certain blocks here and there still untouched. ...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
I think this year I'm most impressed by all of the bike lanes built in St Paul in the last year, they're really starting to cover a lot of ground. And the downtown bike path will really be something once a full stretch or two gets finished. Over in Minneapolis I was just riding on Minnehaha and am w...

Re: Nicollet-Central Streetcar
After riding the A Line on a regular basis there is no doubt that a BRT line on Central-Nicollet is the only way to go vs a snail paced streetcar stopping every couple of blocks. Here's a sample route I slapped together. As a regular rider of the 10 and 18 I would much rather take this. Central •Col...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
So Ling & Louie's is going to be an "upscale" sports bar, so in other words just another overpriced sports bar with 100s of TVs. Seriously, who are the people who actually go to these places? Aren't half of all downtown and Uptown bars "upscale sports bars" already? Yet anoth...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
Went to Game Sports Bar last weekend around 4-5 for a beer. The only differences from a "straight" sports bar are a few rainbows and all dance music. They had a Lake Monster beer that was only $4. Crowd showed up a bit after I got there and filled up the bar area. Left just in time to esca...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Haven't biked this stretch of the Cedar Lake Trail for awhile, so this was a surprise. Is this part 2 of the existing development on Washington or a different one? It would be neat if there are storefronts facing the trail. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p283/Columbusite/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_201...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Bummed about the Caribou/Einstein taking over instead of a new local destination. As if there weren't enough chains there. Oh well, I'll stick to Nicollet south of Franklin like I already do anyway.

Bean to both Carley Coffee and Urban Bean. With similar prices Urban Bean is the clear winner: better product and more variety.

What are they building on the lot just north of Spyhouse? Also, Pimento opened next to Icehouse and is yummy. Kung Fu Noodle next to Shuang Hur is also open, but have yet to eat there.

Re: 38th Street Corridor & Surrounding Neighborhoods
Blue Ox Coffee on Chicago is closing and hopefully finds a new location nearby. Their facebook page has a farewell throwdown on the 21st of this month. Not sure what's moving in that space.
