Re: East End / Thresher Square / Trader Joes - 713 Washington Ave S
Good to see the bike racks getting used. They have a lot of them. They span about half the block on Chicago, pretty much wherever there aren’t plants or a dog relief area. I’d be curious to see where they could fit more in.

Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 43 stories / 526'
It seems that the motive behind this is that the MPRB is working on closing at least parts of the downtown section of West River Parkway to car traffic, which makes everything make more sense. As it stands now, the only curb cuts onto the Parkway between 35W and Hennepin are the Stone Arch Bridge p...

Re: Bike Share
I've seen a lot of people riding them on Nicollet in downtown. And I just saw one go by my place near Lake Calhoun. So they're spreading.

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction / E Line (Uptown to Downtown)
Experienced the bus lane pilot program this morning on Hennepin. Funny thing, my bus actually went a lot slower than other traffic for those blocks because the lane was so narrow. The bus driver seemed concerned that he'd knock over the cones so he was overly cautious. We'll see if things speed up t...

Re: Nicollet Mall
I know Nicollet was substantially complete last fall, but does anyone know what remains to be finished? I see they are tearing up concrete on nearly every block. Seems related to sewer work. And they have fencing around a lot of the trees where the grating is missing. What else is being done before ...

Re: West Lake Street Hotel- 3012 Excelsior Blvd (8 stories, 100')
In terms of removing that left-hand turn, there is presumably a proposal to redevelop the property on the north side (does it include those old, nice looking apartments)? I presume a new building would use the north entry, off of Dean Pkwy? That would also be a nice change. The Brickstone project i...

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
I've seen the new highway signage I posted previously now spread to other buildings. Is this the new standard? Yes, it's a slight update from the old signage meant to be more readable and replace existing signs. But it's not meant to be a reinvention of the signage system. Hopefully that will happe...

Wow. I'm impressed. Looks like it will be a good addition to downtown. I especially like the grand entrance to the skyway system.

Re: Condo Rental Caps: Economics and Equity
I don't have any data, but I would think this is the norm rather than an exception to the rule. My condo has a rental cap. I haven't given it much consideration.

Re: 510 Marquette Avenue
The smallish sign was on the ground level facing Nicollet Station. I assumed it was for the ground level corner space since it replaced the large signage that promoted that location as a restaurant space. But it could be for elsewhere in the building.

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
I haven’t been downtown for a few weeks, is it really the case that the state’s super bowl planning organizations failed at providing better signage directing people how to get into the skyways from outside? They have big banners outside at major access points that I think say “Skyway Access.” For ...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium
You can take a tour (my guide was very knowledgeable) or go to one of the in-line skating/running nights. Those all cost money but they’ll get you inside. You’re not allowed to wander on your own however. You could also go to one of the cheaper events like a home/remodeling show. You can wander a li...
