Re: Homeless tent city along the Hiawatha Bike Trail?
I'm just imagining if someone gets hurt or dies on the property they might be liable if they knew they were living there and their tent wasn't safe or something. At least for the current tent cities, they can just pretend their not aware of it. I don't know, just a thought.

I wonder if legal liabilities are too big of a barrier for this.

Re: 38th Street Corridor & 38th St Station Development
Great summary and I thank you for your time and effort bringing clarity to the members of this site and to the neighborhood (I live nearby at 41st and 21st). I have a quick question, do they aim to start this spring or is this supposed to say spring of 2018? 1) Goal is to start construction spring o...

Louis C.K. has a few similar quotes: https://youtu.be/7ezouMwT__UWe'll... it's being delivered to your seat on a chair flying through the sky. I'll give 'em a break on the price.

Re: 38th Street Corridor & 38th St Station Development
Does anyone have a sense of the timeline of this? I noticed a lot of the houses that need to be purchased and demolished are owner occupied and some are rentals. I assume that pushes back demolition at least a year or more...

Interesting, that stretch of Hiawatha between 38th and Minnehaha Parkway is slowly filling up with apartment buildings...I wonder if this will continue that trend.

Re: Latest Census Estimates and Met Council Projections
Also interesting to note that the population in urban statistical areas increased by 14.55 million (5.5%) from 2010-2016, greater than the change over the US as a whole (14.37 million, 4.7%), meaning that the rural population declined over that time (~-187,000,-0.4%).

Someone posted in our block's Facebook group that Sister Sludge coffee (from Bloomington and 46th) will be moving into the old Social Dance Studio space at 38th St & 23rd Ave S. Likely related to this: http://www.citypages.com/restaurants/a-new-landlord-threatens-minneapolis-love-affair-with-sis...

Confirmed - Colossal is moving to where Pilgrimage was on 38th street. They'll be closing the current location in 3/31 and opening the new one a few months later. They also plan to do something (not disclosed) with the current location. https://www.google.com/amp/twincities.eater.com/platform/amp/20...

Remember also that there are some 600+ units going in near the Lake and Hiawatha station (either recently opened, under construction, or planned for the next few years). That may limit what could go in at these stations with much fewer bus routes/demand.

For 3828: it looks like a little bit of site prep has been done in front of the house on 28th that'll be taken out. Also, what appears to be utility work is being done on 28th in front of both buildings that'll be demolished
