Re: Ford Site Redevelopment

All of the deep sandstone tunnels mined for glass production are sealed off. They are deep enough that they are useless for site utilities, and will not affect building foundation stability. The vehicle tunnels to the river were bulkheaded at each end, and the elevator shafts were filled during demo...

Re: 1400 Park Avenue

The crane on Park will be coming down on Tuesday. We will finish wrapping up the storm water storage tanks after that, including de-lagging the retention wall on that side and remove the H-pile. Backfill will happen along the sidewalk, up against the building we will go up to the grade of the footin...

We did the demolition work. The company that will move the building moved in some materials, and then were told the project is on hold.

R T Rybak was less than impressed in an interview today, also. The article makes no mention of his criticism of the current Mayor.

I'm guessing this is the Metro Transit bus barn expansion?

It is. Internally, we call it the Minneapolis Bus Garage.

Re: 1400 Park Avenue

It's more likely that there was a case of COVID-19 on the crew than that they ran out of funding. If they let the place sit for a few days and do some cleaning it should be fine I would think?? One of the roofing employees. Cleaned house today, back to it on Monday. They will be screening all worke...

Re: TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N

I wonder if studies are showing demand is going to plunge as the pandemic continues. This project dead, Foundry on a delay, (only, hopefully) others sure to follow. I know of four projects where the GC has authorized overtime to push up the completion date. Opinion only: I would be in a big rush to ...

Re: Proposed Cable Median Barriers on at-grade highways

Your second point is not too much of a concern. Removing cable barrier is cheap and easy. It is easier and cheaper to remove 300’ of cable barrier than to remove two large trees.

Re: The Larking - 800 Park - 17 stories - 172'

We approached them. They went thru a dirt hauling company (Shaw) to get rid of the dirt. We just stopped in and asked to throw a truck or two into the mix, if available. We’ll pay them for the material by the ton. Moving dirt is expensive, not because of the cost of material, but because of the truc...

Re: Archive Apartments (Not West Elm Hotel & Condos) - 102-120 1st Street N

Things are progressing slowly. The structure is up, but framing is not quite finished. The parapets are still missing. The framing factory that punches those out had to shut down because of the Covid. They have been down a week and a half. They plan on firing back up Monday to do those. Windows are ...

Re: The Larking - 800 Park - 17 stories - 172'

This is under construction. They have been driving sheet piles all week. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk And hauling out soil like it’s on fire. We ran out of excess sand at our Lake Nokomis job today, so I tried to sneak a truck into here to get a load of sand. He got out of there with it, ...

Roof construction will start next week on the south side.
The potain on the north side will be removed on Friday. Backfilling and removal of retention beams on that side should be complete by next Friday.

Easier posting of pics from a mobile device would be mucho appreciated.

Re: Ford Site Redevelopment

More information (and work) on Area C is coming soon. I will start a new thread for that. I want to emphasize that the site development and Ryan have nothing to do with Area C. That is still Ford’s circus, and what’s buried there is still Ford’s monkeys.

Re: Ford Site Redevelopment

Has Ryan ever identified who would build the riverfront homes or for-sale townhomes? Pulte Homes was represented when I dug the soil classification test holes along Mississippi Boulevard two weeks ago. They were the only ones wearing PPE with their name. Others in the group were wearing Ryan PPE.
