Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
This is pure speculation but the Biz journal also has an article about how CH Robinson is building a new Chicago regional Hq in Chicago. The developer of that new building is Sterling Bay, owner of the Macy's office portion. I'm aware CH recently upgraded their HQ in Eden Prairie but maybe there is ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
Sacrifice your history for a company?Fun fact: Omaha tore down a huge historic warehouse district to keep ConAgra there back in the late 80s. Great investment!Today ConAgra foods from Omaha (a fortune 500 company) moved it's HQ to Chicago.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
I sure hope so, because downtown lost 1000+ TCF employees to plymouth and god knows how many target employees this year. Yeah guys from what's happening in Chicago I see very positive things coming in Minneapolis' future. Today ConAgra foods from Omaha (a fortune 500 company) moved it's HQ to Chica...

Re: Nye's Redevelopment - 100 block of E Hennepin Avenue
The city wouldn't allow a scaled down version of the nicollet block. There's no way they would approve anything scaled down to this magnitude.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
I'm a bit surprised that the article says that the retail space will be on levels 1-4. Like others noted previously, it seems like it would make more sense to use the basement level space for retail. Anyway, fingers crossed that this turns out well. If the renovation is handled with sophistication,...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Sterling Bay is the coolest developer in Chicago. They are experts at developing old buildings into new ones. They are creating the new Google Chicago HQ in an old meat storage facility. They are very good at what they do, Awesome developers. I have a very strong feeling that they are going to upgra...

Re: T3 - Hines Dock Street Office Project
I'm not too worried, these projects rarely get of the ground when developers say they are. Not a lot of space to fill, with Hines as the developer; T3 will happen.

Re: Nicollet-Central Streetcar
Interesting/very creative idea, but I don't think taking over this pedestrian route with transit would be a good call. Looking at this view, though, I do really wish the pedestrian connection across Washington was stronger and prioritized. I think if the portion of the Mall between 3rd and Washingt...
