They're going to build it there. They just bought a site in the Mill District from Ryan. That office building right across from Gold Medal and next to Izzy's. Not saying it means they're going to build it there but there's a chance.

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
I question whether business travelers that need to be downtown would stay over there considering the part of downtown you have to walk through to get to the core. Yeah I don't really get this either. This building would be on Nicollet Mall. Yeah, I walk by on Hennepin, so I suppose my view is a lit...

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
I walk past this parking lot multiple times per week on my way home. I question whether business travelers that need to be downtown would stay over there considering the part of downtown you have to walk through to get to the core. Maybe it would work because, Four Seasons, but it's always seemed li...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
I can't remember where it was, but there was a fundraiser a couple of months ago to raise money for more trees in the NL. Not sure if this has anything to do with that or not.

Bystander was shot outside of Jimmy John's on 6th St. at 7:15 last night. 2nd time this summer a pedestrian has been shot on 6th St. during early evening hours.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
This seems like a pretty big road reconstruction project scheduled to take place in the 2019 construction season. I'm surprised none of the pedestrian improvements are along Washington; specifically where 394 merges. That intersection is terrible... maybe that's a separate project? http://www.ci.min...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Per the Strib, Haute Dish has closed. Ahhh that's too bad, I really liked that place Absolutely loved their brunch. Best breakfast potatoes in the city. Dinner menu had gotten really stale though. The bar in this place is too awesome for someone to not bring in a new concept at some point.

Aren't there buildings all along 1st Ave that cut a huge wall across the neighborhood? At least this thing's being opened up a bit.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Pretty sure this is going into the open retail bay in 5th Ave Lofts... right across the parking lot entry from the new vet clinic by the looks of it.Someone I know is also building out a new dental practice in the North Loop. It'll be called Loop Dental, I believe.

Re: Toast Wine Bar
Last night was Toast Wine Bar's last night. We were there when they let us know they were closing their doors. Website has been updated. This is such a disappointment for the North Loop. I assume no one knows what might replace this wonderful quaint wine bar. That's such a bummer. Aside from the go...

Re: Western Container Building/Arctic Cat HQ - 500 3rd Street N
I did see one tweet hitting on the rush hour traffic in the neighborhood and I can attest to the fact that it's been brutal, but that's driven by the Washington closure pushing traffic back into all the side streets.

Pretty obvious this is unrelated to the local real estate market, no?Bizjournals got a hold of this and now everyone is freaking out. People think this is the kiss of death for North Loop, somehow indicating that the market is turning. I'll never understand.

North Loop office space costing more than Baker Center office space might have had a little something to do with their decision as well.

Is there going to be some kind of eatery included (like Tin Fish, Sea Salt, etc.)? Something like that would do really well in this area right now.

In this article they make it sound like this is different than the West Elm project. They're the same, right? "Hoteliers have taken a big interest in the North Loop in the past year, with the Hewing Hotel opening and plans underway by West Elm and United Properties." http://www.bizjournals...

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
I'm not sure how they were able to get away with the additional space added onto the Arctic Cat building, but that looks bad enough to convince me it's a bad idea in general.
