Still no updates on this? The longer nothing happens the more skeptical I become that anything will.

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project

I'm on the edge of the green zone and got billed $350 or so. Makes it a little bit more real when you actually get the bill for the project.

Re: Adult-Oriented Businesses in Downtown Minneapolis

I also wouldn't be surprised if an overhaul of this corner spurs development of the opposite corner on this intersection... the one with the condemned looking building. If I remember right, the developer that was once slated for that corner partially blamed the existence of SexWorld for the financin...

Re: Adult-Oriented Businesses in Downtown Minneapolis

This is a pretty big turning point for the NL. Hopefully they can replace it with something else that is unique to the neighborhood... and no Fritz, I would not rather have a J. Crew here than SexWorld.

Pretty sure they have a leasing office setup in one of the main floor units in Soltva (I think it's that one) on N. 2nd St.

Re: 729 Washington Av N

Just my personal opinion but I can't imagine a lot of families really wanting to live in the North Loop area (even if we added a lot more park area)...I can see why they want to live in the 'burbs (can just let the kiddos out in the back yard, more room to run around, larger homes typically, easier...

Re: Adult-Oriented Businesses in Downtown Minneapolis

I don't think the existing places should go way, I just don't think we need more of them. It's impressive how many strip clubs I pass on my short walk to work every morning.

This place is called Intimate Treasures, btw.

Adult-Oriented Businesses in Downtown Minneapolis

That empty storefront across the ally from the Fine Line now has flyers up for what looks like a strip club. Can't remember the name, but there was some work going on inside as well. If there's one thing downtown needs more of, it's definitely strip clubs.

They're already opening the school in downtown east, I'm really hoping that can work well. I'm talking about park space in North Loop
Care to spill the beans on where the new park space will be?

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)

You guys go downtown to get from LP/Uptown to North Loop? I always go around the back of the burner... Royaston/11th/12th past Lees, or Lyndale (94 frontage roads).
It took me a year or so of living in the North Loop to figure out that this route is so much faster in both directions.

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

I walk by this every day and honestly thought it was already closed. I've never seen it open and it just looks dirty inside. I used to (2011-2012) go past this corner almost every day and thought the same. Sure, it was usually morning when the restaurant wasn't open, but just looking though the win...

Those tenant improvements will definitely make a difference, but man, the building owner has got to do something about the main entrance too: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.977462,-93.27177,3a,75y,290.53h,86.25t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1shXhgDYkvsrwLKuxtD_NPcA!2e0 If there were ever a place for a big st...

Re: Conrad Hotel @ Plymouth Building - 12 6th Street S

Wow, this news is awkward. What's the skinny on the existing offices moving out? I know one office moved into Lumber Exchange, but I'm not sure if they proactively moved before a deadline, or forced. It would be weird to vacate the building and then have this happen. They forced the tenants out wit...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

The Imperial Room closed. Looks like the whole building is for sale.

Crazy how different (non-existent) the bar scene is on that stretch of 1st Ave. compared to a few years ago.

Isn't the whole reason this isn't getting built because it was a dream? He dreamed up a proposal that we all love, but he couldn't really build. More power to him for doing the initial design and getting people excited.

Re: Conrad Hotel @ Plymouth Building - 12 6th Street S

I heard this project is dead and they're now looking at an office conversion. Anyone else hearing the same? Are you confusing this with the Nate's Clothing Building, which was originally going to be a boutique hotel and is now slated to become offices? No, it was definitely the Plymouth Building.

They should've just left out that second picture. Not sure if the scale is off or what, but it looks way more short and squat than the first one.

Re: Downtown Retail News

I wonder how much demand there is for a high-end retail store in Mpls. Seems like people who want and/or can afford higher end apparel are more interested in unique, handcrafted, or responsibly sourced apparel. That's more likely to come from smaller shops, boutiques, etc than a larger department s...
