At the end of the article it talked about the idea of moving employees from Charlotte NC to Minneapolis. I wonder how much truth is behind this idea.

Re: Twin Cities Underground Rail
Minneapolis and most of the metro happens to be one of the most tunnel friendly cities in the country if not even the world. To me that means the TBM would be able to tunnel faster and more cost efficient. While a subway in Minneapolis would cost a lot it would be cheaper then building the same subw...

At this point there isn't to much for the local news to report. Just about everybody who followed the stadium from the start has heard that MLS was a rather large sticking point the Wilfs made. So far the shovels have just hit the dirt and in the next year or two much more info regarding a pro socce...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
I have to wonder what the odds would be when they raise the Star Tribune building and get the two block park. How hard it would be to temporarily shut down Park and Portland? Just on game days to start but then increase that. Just because this park will at first be separated by north/south streets d...

Re: Twin Cities Underground Rail
The cost of the deep bore tunnel under MSP should be considered an exception. This tunnel was designed to be blast proof. So extra strong materials where used that wouldn't necessarily be used during "normal" deep bore tunneling. The tunnel per Wikipedia is 1.7 miles long. All I know is th...

Re: Twin Cities Underground Rail
I would enjoy seeing a tunnel under Henn or Nicollet running north south into uptown. If it was to be under Nicollet once it goes south under the freeway I would like to have it then run under Henn ave into uptown then make a turn east on Lake st and run the entire length until it reaches the Blue L...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
It is the Wilf family. Wilf! No more spelling the owner of the vikings wrong please. The Star Tribune building will cost to much cash in renovations to make turning it into anything. Unless they qualify for millions in forgivable loans, grants and historic tax credits. I also seem to remember a hote...

choice, this block is going to look nice in a couple years! I also want to know would 4Marq be connected to the skyway? Would they build the connection in a way that it would be able to extend north? Yes it will be connected to the skyway system. I'm sure that this will be designed to get a skyway ...

The arch idea seems like a pretty cool center point to a city park. However I think this building will be all or nothing in terms of its demise (save for the medallions) . However if the wind blows in the favor of keeping the Strib building it looks like Ryan will wash there hands clean of this idea...

Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor
Thank you for your well written reply. I was saying Minneapolis was dense enough 60 years ago for a trolly. I should have wrote that a little better. When you say a trolly has a higher capacity then the city bus I was basing my capacity assumption on the trolly being of a comparable size to a bus. Y...

Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor
Subway Subway Subway Subway Elevated rail would have to be at least 60-80 feet high for it not to interfere with the skyways. My guess would make both options seem "cost effective". I just do not see the benefit of any sort of trolly system. Buses stack and having rode along Nicollet mall ...

The Devon Tower has 1,800,000 square feet. I have to say it looks pretty sharp for how much it towers over the rest of the skyline. Re: Target Center Renovation
Thanks for helping to clarify. I would bet by the all star game the exterior work will be started.I agree that's really poorly written, but I assume what they're saying is that the city would bond for all $98 million, but the team and AEG would be responsible for covering half of the bonds.
