Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
72,000 Ladybugs Released in Mall of America... Not sure where I originally read it before, but I was surprised when this was a big story because I was sure I had heard it before. Anyway, weird sense of déjà vu for a couple of days until I ran across this: http://blog.mallofamerica.com/miscellaneous...

Re: Midtown Corridor
They'd be perfect for cyclists on the Greenway during winter. They could just pedal into one, strap into a near Flintstones type propulsion system and have just enough pedal power left to power the little heater that makes the whole thing perfect for April snowstorms! :) Edit: Interesting they are l...

Re: I-35W/I-94 Commons
Maybe the existing trench could be capped off entirely around Groveland, Clifton, and Oak Grove and more N/S streets be reconnected? I had hoped to. I was afraid EB94 traffic heading to uptown would just drive through the new tunnel and then back through Lyn/Hen commons, causing further congestion....

Re: I-35W/I-94 Commons
I wasn't aware of any precedent for this type of tunneling but I've always been bothered by 94 forming an acute angle as it makes its way past Minneapolis. So I went out on the interweb and found one. Looks like Seattle is planning on going deep enough so even the Pacific doesn't fall in on them, le...

Re: Vikings Stadium
^^^ All of this with the added hope that both this and Target Field are woven into the city in such a way that they last long enough to create a legacy. How incredible would it be in 30 years if Target Field was historic and becoming overgrown with ivy, and the Vikings were looking for ways to enhan...

Re: Interstate 94
Fixing MN 252 / 85th and Cedar / 42 would make a big dent on the congestion. True. Although it is possible I am starting to become an urbanmsp convert and would say, the suburban congestion @85th and cedar can't take priority over merging ramp improvements/managed lanes on the congested inner arter...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
I was under the impression the current expansion is just a stepping stone.
The expansion into the North parking lot West of Ikea would be 2.0 (Lots of High end shops).
No 3.0. But then again doesn't really matter.

Re: Interstate 94
I agree MN 252 and Cedar should be freeways... I love infrastructure. Most days I would agree with this, and silly things like a 6 lane 94 to St. Cloud and hell even a Stillwater bridge :o But, I lived in Northfield for four years using Cedar frequently in AppleValley (Even during the hellish const...

Seems as though I start sketching highways when I'm board... Interesting. At some point, the 35:94 Interchange became less about an efficient design, and more about art. There are some bumps that are a little off, but if you look close you might be able to get the crazy idea of it all. ;) I am certa...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Assuming the reroute is still in the mix bag of "things we'll figure out later" the area where the existing spur begins could easily be East of where the freight line rejoins the existing railway. This would remove the need for one flyover. Also, it may actually be a way to make the rerout...

Thanks for the link Shawn. I did some searching bf posting but forgot to check phpbb's homepage. Not sure skyscrapercity employs any extra code to update their OP's the way they do, but their top threads have some organization. Here's an example: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=391698...
