Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
If SWLRT gets finished before Midtown Greenway corridor, (assuming we're building a single/double track streetcar along the Greenway), maybe we can implement something like West Lake - Uptown Transit Center streetcar shuttle on a single track along the Greenway until we finish the Greenway corridor ...

Re: Red Line (Cedar BRT)
I was at the Mall of America last night, and it was surely very easy to find the Red Line platform... (That was the only sign that says "Red Line" in the entire transit center.) https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-aYRaFwWRthQ/UcomQxozLtI/AAAAAAAAAm4/-eWsmNHWOEo/w464-h618-no/IMG_20130625_175...

Re: MPLS Planning Commission meetings
I got there when the speakers from save the dinkytown people just started speaking. Sat right next to the door and a trash can, but boy, it was such a lovely meeting room. I had to leave right after the meeting so I couldn't say hi to anyone last night, but it was nice 'meeting' you guys last night!...

Just got off work. Would I miss the Dinkytown Opus one if I show up around 530?

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
Everything else being equal, that's crazy. Agreed. But apparently not. Munich has much higher (almost double, I assume. Correct me if I am wrong, please.) population density compared to that of the Twin Cities which means more people and less area to cover to serve the area. And looking at their ex...

Re: Red Line (Cedar BRT)
Not technically related to the Red Line, but I think I just saw a light rail car sitting at Franklin with the LED sign saying "Red Line" with the red square next to it... Maybe they have been secretly planning for an underground LRT under Cedar Ave?? I know... Too much wishful thinking...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha)
This looks definitely easier on the eyes compared to the previous one with a thick red line. I'd just like to add some thoughts about branding and information hierarchies/designs from the map here. Maybe I am just nitpicking about the things don't really matter to most of the users, but I don't real...

Re: Red Rock
Any updates on any of the commuter rail proposals in the region including this one? I've been doing some researches on Red Rock, Rush Line and NLX recently and it seems like it's pretty quiet just judging from the lack of updates from their websites. Does anyone here know what's going on with some o...

Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor
I'm not sure if we REALLY need stops every two blocks... (outside the dwtn mostly)
Are we really that lazy that we are not willing to walk more than one block to catch a streetcar?

This is also a super nit-picky issue but, am I the only person who are annoyed by inconstant usages between "to downtown St. Paul" and "to downtown Saint Paul"?

Re: Midtown Corridor
Has anyone put much thought into the stops yet? Assuming that people can tolerate having spacing closer to 1/2-mile, I'd limit the stops of anything in the trench to SWLRT in the west, Hennepin, Lyndale, Nicollet, I-35W, Chicago, Bloomington, and then Hiawatha LRT in the east. http://goo.gl/maps/Za...

The county is doing a survey on the "grand boulevard" concept. I filled it out and the dutifully pointed them to this thread in the "additional comments" section. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WashingtonAveDesignConcept Thanks for the link! I just filled it out as well and added...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
This is great! I see you omitted "Avenue" or "Street" for most of the stations---which I like, by the way. What's everyone's opinion about omitting "Avenue" or "Street" for station names? Should we just omit everything? or just "Street"? What's the d...
