I don't believe they can just make the area a parking lot and it is not on the Land Use Application portal as of today.
But it could be it is on pause
Here is the project in question. It was approved for grant money last year.

Demo for the former grocery store on the kmart site has been approved and will be demolished this year before the post office moves out of the other building.

See if they can host an event like the lynlake street art series. They could make a large mural that reflects downtown and the city vs a bland wall. That or make a green wall as they will never be able to keep it "like new"

Wells fargo has a min number of 3 days a week in the office.
Im going to guess target even if it doesn't have a company wide min days in office different departments or teams will.
I fully expect there to be a soft(or not soft) push by Target for get alot of people back in more then once a month

It did not. Much of it was attributed to covid closures of college campuses in both counties as well as early retirements. Crime in both counties was given as a possible reason but not the driving factor

Very large declines in Ramsey and Hennepin county populations last year. 13000 for Hennepin alone

This was very common among larger metro areas last year from San Fran to NYC

I doubt they could really pull anything off without the cities help right now. It seems like they are consolidating there plans to MOA after the failures in other markets

Uptown pourhouse has closed indefinitely due to unforeseen circumstances. uptown tavern has also paused operations citing crime concerns for there staff but have stated they expect to re open in the late spring. Cowboy slims have renewed there liquor license but have no plans to re open. https://www...

The Minnesota Department of Education will relocate to Northeast Minneapolis from Roseville. They are leasing 95,086 square foot space in Stinson Office Park.
