Last I heard they won't open it but will potential put a car on the tracks to complete testing that segment to try to speed up the opening once the tunnel is completed

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

I rode the D line from downtown to south minneapolis, never rode the 5 before but it just seemed to flow better down the street and not get hung up at lights. Not sure if that is the far side boarding or TSP but it felt like it was quicker.

they decided on those directions to funnel people to 46th to get on 35w so I don't think they would switch them around

the U of M is also buying up property to the west of the huron interchange to expand their medical campus so that might help with the walk along there.

Re: Gold Line BRT (Gateway Corridor)

it may be 7,500 average but when any U of M event is happening it gets pretty heavy usage. I still like you are right though that the whole area and street could use a remodel to make it much more pedestrian friendly

Re: Highland Bridge: Ford Site Redevelopment

I was out there this weekend too and was looking at the prices of the townhomes. They are now starting in the high 700s with some of the move in ready ones sitting at over $1 million. Just kinda crazy when they first were announced they were supposed to start in the 400s.

I think we also need to start doing raised crosswalks and this would be a perfect place to start.

Evie has a whole fleet of cars sitting at the old amtrak depot. Wonder what they are waiting for getting them in service? maybe there are tracking parts that are on back order.

They are putting the concrete barriers and fencing back up around the precinct again. Really sad to see, anyone know why?

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)

New fare collection machines are being installed on the busses that would be able to accept tap to pay on phones eventually but would have to be turned on. I think the short term idea is to get rid of the separate go to card readers on the buses.

They have been having issues with that connection for a while now. Wouldn't be surprised if they never reopened it.

Ok, got some questions about what that building labeled "Terminal" off of 28th Avenue and 62nd Street will be in Alt 2A. 2A also looks like they'll pave over Mother Lake completely. FBO is just like private jet operators so they would tear down all the buildings on E 70th by terminal 2 an...

there are a bunch of pre approved builders and architects. I also believe that someone could theoretically build up to a triplex on the lots if they wanted to.

Re: Highland Bridge: Ford Site Redevelopment

I toured the model units over the weekend and was surprised at how small some of the spaces were. The main living and kitchen areas were very nice but the bedrooms were very small. The finishes also didn't seem super nice for 700k. Also with the amount of stairs I feel like it might be a hard sell f...
