Re: Loring Park Neighborhood & Small Area Plan
Not related to neighborhood plan - but has anyone been to the comic/gaming store on the corner of 15th and LaSalle? What a great little find. Was there today and was pretty busy with the comic convention going on at the convention center. It's stores like this that make a neighborhood unique and int...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
Me too! Just wonder if it would get past the preservationists. My greatest hope for this is that they find a way to put in skylights over the arching roof. But that is a wish I never expect to see, I'll be pleased when it isn't car storage anymore.

Re: Theater Garage Marquee Apartments - (Franklin & Lyndale)
Glad to hear! I just moved back to MN this past Monday from Chicago and am spending the weekend checking things outand taking photos. Been away 5 years. Things change but stay the same. Glad to be back but realizing jut how much opportunity Mpls. (both downtown and it's more urban neighborhoods) sti...

14th and Central
I believe there is already a thread for this but couldn't find it. Anyhoo - some renderings of two competing proposals for the site.

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development
Taller would be cool, but I really want to see Ryan commit to developing the parcels north of the Wells Fargo building. I'd rather see something there than a few floors added to a tower.

Re: Vacant Historic Theaters in Uptown/LynLake
Zara - but I think that would be a better fit for downtown, plus seems their stores are larger, often multi-level.

Re: Mill & Main Phase II - (425 Main Street Southeast)
Sorry but they really lost a prime opportunity by limiting the height on these developments. Hopefully future new buildings built north will be taller.

Re: Nic on Fifth - (290' - 26 Stories)
I guess my concern is that from the early images it appeared the building would be further set back from Nicollet providing more space for outdoor dining, greenspace, etc. I don't understand what every building has to abut the sidewalk so closely. We are really getting a canyon effect down Nicollet.

All for it but just don't see it happening until there is greater density/lack of building space DTW/DTW, etc. unless we start with green space.

Re: 510 Marquette Avenue
I believe there were talks to add a skyway connection to the Nicollet Mall light rail station back in the day. Kinda for it - kinda not if we're talking about continuing to strengthen street activity and redesign Nicollet.

Re: Downtown Restaurant News
I am still sad to see the independent retail stores go, but this looks like it's going to be pretty cool. While it's a chain restaurant - Mpls. scored in nabbing it instead of the burbs or MOA. Building looks great and love the rooftop deck.

Re: Pier B
It would've been great if the development would've been mixed-use with some condos/apartments or even timeshares. Duluth really needs some new housing stock and can you imagine living with views of Lake Superior?!

Re: Pier B
Updated design/plan. Groundbreaking hopefully this summer! I agree with the article's writer - the development is a huge plus for Duluth and the lakefront. Hopefully in time some of the other piers can be redeveloped, perhaps with more modern/iconic architecture. https://cdinduluth.squarespace.com/t...

I didn't know whether to throw it in here or the North Loop forum, but work appears to have begun on converting the 3 story building attached to Deja Vu into the sports bar (named The Office) that was proposed a while ago. This includes a full restoration of the exterior, which I'm pretty excited t...
