Re: George Floyd murder and aftermath
Harstad said it cost about $20,000 to clear the lot, once the site of an Arby's. Harstad said Arby's is not going to rebuild its restaurant, citing concern about the potential for more rioting if the police officers charged in Floyd's death are acquitted. Harstad has yet to find another tenant for ...

Re: Hiawatha-Lake - Minnehaha - Downtown Longfellow
Got a card in the mail from USPS today about a potential relocation of the burned down Minnehaha post office. Says USPS proposes a potential relocation to a 13k SF building with 91+ parking spaces or retail 2500 SF and USPS 10k SF. Doesn't specify an exact location. No public meeting because of the ...

Anyone heard anything new about the 38th Street Station apartments? They’ve demolished 2 of the houses behind The Cardinal.

Re: George Floyd murder and aftermath
Unfortunately that's where we're at, with everything. Defund the police is a bold phrase. Police reform has been brought up forever, but the reform has been too slow. So we say, let's be bold. It clearly isn't working out.People have been willfully obtuse about this.

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News
This place seemed to be on borrowed time even before this year. It was really hot 15 or so years ago, but it struck me as more about drinks and the scene rather than the food, which was better elsewhere (and probably cheaper to boot). I'd bet that many people who loved it in its prime haven't been ...

Developer plans to turn Duluth's Historic Old Central High School to apartments Laverty said the company's plans would transform the building into 120 to 140 housing units for a mix of market-rate and income-restricted renters. He added that Saturday Properties' plans would leave the outside of the...

I liked Hopcat. Food was solid and their beer list was better than Cityworks. Prices may have been a bit high. I'm sure their rent was a bit high as well.

Re: Pedestrian Safety and Infrastructure Improvements
I guess the new speed limits are starting to be implemented in Minneapolis. Given that the city doesn't have squads for traffic enforcement and cars have been doing what they want with MPD focused on other things people are laughing at this project given that current speed limits aren't being enfor...
