Re: Vikings Stadium

I really like the idea of skateboarding facilities in the area as well. I don't think you'd have to do anything outrageous, but that idea actually serves as an interesting, natural-looking way to draw new people to the area on a regular basis.

Re: 600 5th Street North

I'm curious what this smallish, infill apartment building should have been that would be more acceptable?

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark

According to this website—http://aablstpaul.bbstats.pointstreak.com/attendance.html?leagueid=193&seasonid=499—the Saints average around 5,000 fans per game. Whether that's 5,000 paying customers actually attending games of 5,000 tickets given out is unclear. The point isn't just attendance, thou...

Re: Vikings Stadium

Rybak and the pro-stadium lobby mentioned several times that Downtown East was zoned to discourage development around the Metrdome. Definitely not the first time this has come up.

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark

I don't get why watching completely unknown players who are loosely affiliated with the Twins would draw significantly more fans than our current crop of completely unknown players already playing for the Saints. Sure, in theory it would be cool to have the Twins and their AAA affiliate in the same ...

Re: Trader Joes (Lyndale and 27th)

That's a pretty subjective blanket statement.

The St. Paul Trader Joe's is in a perfectly convenient location for a lot of people, including me. I've also never had real trouble finding a parking spot there. What do you propose, a location closer to you with a giant parking lot?

Re: The Interchange (At Target Field)

So the LRT platform will be raised over a public plaza, and then there will be a large staircase leading up to the stadium? I hadn't gathered that from earlier pictures, but if so I really like it.

Where does the Northstar train fit into all of this? I'm only seeing that one platform area.

Re: Central Corridor LRT

Not sure if I'm buying that there's huge demand for express downtown-to-downtown service on the CCLRT. An express bus route in 94 should be totally sufficient for the time being, and maybe down the road a limited express train could be set up using the Minneapolis-Chicago infrastructure (assuming th...

Traffic on University between the Westgate and Prospect Park stations has been moved to the north side of University as re-pavement begins on the south side. Construction is moving fast.

Re: Vikings Stadium

Here is the rendering 4-d refers to. http://blogs.citypages.com/sports/images/vikesoverview.jpg This is probably my favorite concept of any I've seen for the Metrodome site. The large buildings theoretically give the stadium additional uses (team offices, a hotel possibly) while the common area is c...
