Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

There was a window that looked like one of the landscaping rocks was thrown through it on the north side of the stadium this morning.

Re: Oaks Station Place

So, is the management just holding onto hope of renting this giant space someday? Such a shame it's still empty. They should split it up. From what I've heard there's a desire by the owner to have a restaurant fill the full space and no desire from banks to fund such a thing. It really should be su...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

It seems that the design of this thing is a bit flawed. They had to bring back the Abilene High Lift to clean the windows. That's going to be a significant reoccurring expense.

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

A photo I took yesterday of track work occurring in the MSP airport tunnels, where they were single-tracking. The tracks were shifted out of the way to replace the supports underneath. They're blocks with what look like rubberized gaskets/boots surrounding them: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7325/...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Hahaha bait and switch...... really????? It's a friggen video board. Design elements change during the process at times. It isn't like tehre hasn't been a ton of upgrades to the building during the process but yeah they were just hoping that nobody was going to notice that they promised media mesh ...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Has anybody seen this up close yet? Looking at the images on the MediaMesh page, when that system is illuminated, it looks as though it is a solid screen, so I guess based on what I can see on the webcam it's hard to tell exactly what it is they installed. But I'll agree that the initial renderings...

My presumption has been the sound is the sanders located on the vehicles. They help create more traction during positive and negative acceleration.

Looks like that HVAC duct on the concourse level will be blocked by a display or ad board.

Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)

So I've noticed these police officers at a number of construction sites downtown. I presume they are mostly there for traffic control. Who ultimately pays for these officers, since they are being taken out of regular duty?

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block

Business Journal is saying that they want a 5 star hotel with this development. Possibly a Four Seasons. Weird...there is a Four Seasons plane at MSP right now. More on that. Guaranteed this isn't a destination, just maintenance. http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2015/04/27/four-seasons-hotel-group-lau...

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development

Residential parking permits would impact businesses year round, whereas the stadium will impact parking a handful of hours per year.

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development

I hate the cliche comment about traffic concerns but this one's fairly legit. I'm curious how difficult/costly it is for the city to issue the blocks most impacted by stadium parking overflow residential permits so only residents can park during non-business hours. When my parents lived in Lincoln ...

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium

To be sure, though, "honor" might mean buying out too. This was asked at the press conference. You really can't move forward if Rainbow Foods is sitting there for five more years waiting out its lease. I presume that one will shutter eventually since it was one of six not to be purchased ...

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium

I'm very supportive of this project, and of MN United being close to my house so we can go to games, but I guess I'm disappointed at how stadium-y it looks. What do I mean? Well, we already have two massive stadia (TCF, US Bank) that look like big, massive stadia. Target Field is a little better bu...
