A small little development, but it looks like the MOA Transit Station is getting a Caribou. Would love to see more stuff like this around our transit stations.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Yes it would. It would essentially trade extra frequency down Hennepin for more frequency in the immediate western suburbs. I think the gains might outweigh the losses (remember that the E Line will come through at about the same time, and Hennepin will still get good frequency between that route a...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
I think it might make sense to cut the length of the #12 and #17 routes and have them terminate at the Uptown Transit Center, obviously passing the West Lake Station en route. But with those cuts to length, I'd like to see an increase in frequency. Despite the lack of connections between different ...

Re: Encore - 935 2nd Street South
I've definitely seen the Shamrock/Stanton buildings bathed in purple light and was trying to figure it out until...I realized it was just the stadium.
It just throws off so much light.

Last I checked, despite the name, LynHall wasn't a food hall in the way that any of the ones Alex listed are.

200 Central (2019) - 293' / 27 Stories
It's back - this time as apartments in a shorter building with more units. Was: 40 stories, 214 units Now: 27 stories, 356 apartments https://twitter.com/WedgeLIVE/status/1204871391834599424 Not a bad project by any means, but it definitely is less attractive with the 13-story reduction. Mod Note: t...

The Urban Outfitters space in Uptown is apparently up for lease: http://tcbmag.com/news/articles/2019/december/urban-outfitters-space-in-uptown-listed-for-lease I won't lose any sleep over not having an UO nearby, but it would be nice for once to see a positive story coming out of Uptown...seems lik...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
A synopsis of a locked article is cool. But let's support local journalism by not literally copy-pasting the stuff they've worked on. Especially since this could be summed up as: Metro Transit is moving forward with plastic seats on light rail because they're easier to clean.

Re: Uptown (and LynLake) Development & General Topics
I agree it’s a net positive, but I still don’t love demolishing smaller-scale commercial (that appears to be in use?) on one of the relatively few corridors that allows it.

Apartment building proposed on the 3500 block of Hennepin Avenue. 75 units, 90 parking spots. Would require the demolition of two houses, a commercial building, and another commercial building with a few apartments on the second floor. https://www.southwestjournal.com/news/development/2019/11/new-ap...

The 2021 Minneapolis city council race will be for a two-year term (and then in 2023 become decoupled from the mayoral race) without changes to Minnesota law: https://www.minnpost.com/state-government/2019/11/the-wrath-of-kahn-why-minneapolis-city-council-members-will-have-to-run-for-two-year-terms-...

Re: Eagan, Apple Valley, Burnsville - General Topics
Given that nearly all of my suburban south metro friends and work colleagues (primarily in Eagan, Mendota Heights, etc.) have Vikings living in their apartment buildings, I wouldn't be surprised if more than a few of places rented out went to players.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
Not speaking specifically to the downtown, but I think it’s easy for west metro/Minneapolis people to equate St. Paul being smaller with St. Paul being irrelevant, when really St. Paul and the east metro in general have their own smaller but similar ecosystem. Like for me there was a long time when...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
Sure, DT St. Paul is cheaper, but it's farther away from the metro's center of gravity, which is pretty clearly Minneapolis/west metro. I worked at one of the few tech companies in DT St. Paul until earlier this year, and it was pretty notable that a pretty substantial portion of the young talent li...

Re: Electric Scooters
I'm not sure it's so easy to slot scooters in as being a replacement for any single mode of transportation. At least in my experience, they're kind of in their own category. My use cases so far: -My once-an-hour express bus from the U skipped one of its runs. Instead of calling Uber/Lyft or waiting ...

I've been surprised by the number of dockless blue bikes are left out of their hub. Are that many people really paying the $5 out-of-hub fee!?

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
As of today, Hennepin has been seal-coated and restripped, but the bus lane markings haven’t been added yet. These are going to be longer in length, but will be for parking off-peak, I believe. They must be putting in the bus lane markings this week, because there was a sign on Hennepin indicating ...

Re: Target Field Station (the Hotel) & Target Field Station (the Station)
That Holiday is always crazy busy -- many times I've had to wait to get a pump, and the line for the car wash can sometimes exceed half an hour. It also clearly serves as something of a general store for the area, as you'll often find people stocking up on basics more often than a typical gas statio...
