Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
So, who gets to tell Wisconsin they're losing Interstate 535 and you don't you think they'd raise enough stink over it that the federal government would never allow us to remove the interstate designation and build a ramp with signals? I agree, 610 just kinda loses it's purpose past 94. There isn't...

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
I am sort of confused as to where they want this or why..given 94 is right there. Maple Grove seeks to extend heavily traveled Hwy. 610 Three online open houses outlining plans will be held Wednesday. "The first segment of Hwy. 610 was built in 1986 with a Mississippi River crossing connecting ...

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT
I go down 81 often. Past Robbinsdale it's just a sea of cars and pavement. With the railroad tracks and everything else it is just a foreboding place I imagine for anyone on foot. I don't even like to drive down it, I often take W. Broadway because it makes me feel like I am not just in a non-descri...

They are separate packets posted throughout the forum. Given that it's at NRRC (Neighborhood Org) We'll probably get an update in the Planning Committee soon. This will involve tearing down some streetcar era buildings which give W. Broadway it's character. It's also next to probably the area with t...

Re: Northside - News & General Topics
Plans for a mixed-use building at 1300 W Broadway (right at the start of the curve) called The Resolute have been submitted to the city. The city's application database says it would have 71 rental units and retail space for a barber shop, a day care, a bar, and a cafe. That could be pretty excitin...

Update on the Satori project from NRRC Phase 1, Satori Boutique, is 112 units, 6 stories on the southeast corner of Broadway and Bryant, next to the Cub Foods parking lot. 20% of the units will be "affordable" to people earning up to $59,600 per year or 80% of Area Median Income, which is ...

I hope Triple Five makes the right moves. Sounds like the New Jersey Mall has been a disaster and poorly executed. I guess their ski slopes started on fire?

Inflation might ease off as COVID wanes and the supply chain issues ease and the rate hikes tap the brakes. Even if it does I'm not sure it will hit the news before the election.

This will be a nice addition to the edge of Elliot Park. Much much better than that ramp.North Central is proposing another new building - this one would tear down the small parking ramp at Elliot and 14th and replace it with a four-story student union/science lab building.

All they would have to do is remove the parking and build a centrally located underground ramp to keep it in the current area. This is getting off the topic of this thread however.

Starting to wonder if Moon Palace Books will ever take down the boards still on their windows. Does anyone know if the city has taken a more active approach to making sure boards over windows come down in due time? Also, what's going on with that 3rd precinct building? Overall, I have been like 90-...

If the residents don't support it and their CM doesn't. Then why should they be forced to have it? Are businesses paying assessments on this and not want it? These folks live, do business in the area and pay taxes...they should have a say just as much as those who want complete streets and etc. (Or ...

Once NLX is built, we're just a couple infill stations away from a Cambridge commuter rail service. Add stations at Andover, Bethel, and Isanti, and that's a commuter rail. Somehow though, I don't think Anoka County would buy in. I grew up here near the tracks, this is a bad idea. They tried an exp...

Well that tunnel they showed would help a lot with that. Do you mean more than that? Yeah, you go through that tunnel and you're kinda dumped into Boom Island which is mostly grassy area. Maybe create an integrated riverwalk between the two, with "rooms" or etc in different areas kinda li...

Well, transit isn't a substitute for car travel because even if you can ride the Blue Line to your job at Target, you can't ride it to your friend's house in Lake Elmo or take IKEA furniture home on it. I do think that "that the suburbs only enthusiastically supported the Bottineau Corridor so...

How about the city maintain their own public property rather than forcing residents to do their work for them? Of failing that, how about an app where one person per block or so owns a power snowblower and does the whole block, and the other residents make donations to help with the purchase, gas, ...
