Hy-Vee redevelopment - New Hope

Hy-Vee is moving in to the region in small steps but looks like New Hope has gathered some parcels together to redevelop a space where Hy-Vee will play a part.

Re: Climate Change

Hard to summarize to briefly. Some of the largest areas of the planet that are changing are grasslands. Much has already turned to unproductive desert or is edging that way. Grasslands co-"evolved" with the presence of massive herds of grazing ruminants that have been exterminated by human...

Re: Alatus St. Anthony Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site)

I really like the idea that downtown straddles both sides of the river and I'm glad this tower is happening because it emphasizes that.

Re: Minneapolis Park System

I would be surprised Meadowbrook (Minneapolis golf course out in St. Louis Park and Hopkins) is using the river for water.

Twin Cities' National and Global Image

Yeah. Quite worth a read, the local branch seems to be doing its own thing successfully, even expanding. It feels like Nice Ride is to bike sharing what MPR is to public radio. After Nice Ride expands to St. Paul, I'd like to see them try a suburban expansion. Self-serving, but I'd like to see expan...

Re: Minneapolis Park System

Apparently the courses are already not making money, I wonder how bad simply losing these prime weeks of golf season will hurt revenue, to say nothing of the clean up cost.

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project

For all the over the top wailing, would KA think differently if the Knox underpass allowed cars too? Maybe begin the drop Knox would need to go under about 30 feet further south so as to allow a "bridge-like" connection between the two parcels... The sort of whining out of KA casts doubt o...

Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

I was partly hoping this development would open up a side street to France. Something that allowed a bypass from the bottleneck on this stretch.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

An LRT through uptown to downtown? Yes, there won't be probably never. But LRT through Midtown, or street car to downtown from uptown? I see it probably accelerates it.

Looks like it doesn't load in the tapatalk app. Through a browser is fine.

Like the look. Can't wait to see if Edina whittles this down after letting the Lennar development next to Richfield happen.

We could spend a lot of effort talking about the flooding from the wettest-so-far year since records have been kept, but related to this crossing... the Stillwater Lift Bridge is closed until waters recede.
