Re: 330 South 12th
I don't think it's particularly special or significant, but it's more special and significant than surface parking lots and 40 year old parking ramps.

Re: 330 South 12th
While the market is well represented, I'm sure certain chains would see it as an opportunity to move their brand to a new flagship property. Hyatt and Raddison have seen upgrades recently, and the Westin is relatively new, but maybe we could see a Marriott move? Or maybe a primary brand would take o...

Re: Robert St Corridor
What about people commuting to Minneapolis? I'm guessing an hour from Woodbury (Gateway) or IGH (Robert Corridor) via interlining along Central Corridor would be a longer trip than existing buses, but I wonder by how much.

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT)
I'm also a little surprised the Crosstown project didn't make any future provisions for a direct connection between 35W center HOT lanes and 62/77 for Cedar BRT.

Re: Robert St Corridor
I read through a few of the docs and technical memoranda yesterday but I was not enthusiastic about the proposed connection into DT ST. Paul. If LRT crossed at Robert Street, it would turn east immediately into the SPUD concourse area. If it crossed the Lafayette Bridge, it would turn immediately we...

Re: Transit News and Happenings
Actually, I have a deal for you. We will spend the same amount on transit expansion as we spend on road capacity expansion. Sound fair? We better get started on SW LRT then, in exchange for the Stillwater bridge.

Re: U.S. Highway 14
I drove through this interchange a couple days ago. One thing that I thought was strange is that the signage at the CR45 exit still called it US-14 West / Waseca. Guessing that will get changed soon.

West 7th Street and MN-5 Interchange
I know on Minnescraper we had a thread about West 7th, and it seemed to encompass development near Davern, etc. One thing I had published was this map for the area of West 7th near Davern. I use this stretch frequently to get to St. Paul, and one problem spot is the interchange of MN5 and MN55. The ...

Re: 36 Park Apartments - St. Louis Park
Maybe SLP east of Hwy 100 will be able to capture some of the Uptown demand that Mpls is not accommodating due to nimbyism. This will probably accelerate after the SWLRT is built.

Re: 330 South 12th
It looks like the whole core of the school was removed and replaced with a parking ramp, and the outside corridors/space were kept and remodeled.
I'd rather see them tear down the Leamington ramp and build a hotel there...

Re: 330 South 12th
Aren't there other parcels within a few blocks of the CC with more redevelopment potential than Century Plaza? I've never been in the building but it seems like a decent use compared to surface lots and suburbanesque buildings in the area. Also why would the county be doing the job of a private deve...

Re: What will it take to develop DTE?
Agreed with above. Compare to even downtown St. Paul, which is much more human-scaled in most parts. Most one way streets are two lanes with bumpouts, parking lanes on both sides, and more frequent use of turn lanes where appropriate. It's time to get rid of these 5-lane-width streets with 3-4 drivi...

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations
I think we should just push for more street-level space which can be used for anything... shopping, restaurants, office, service businesses, etc. And let it organically happen. Shopping will find its place over time.
