Re: Red 20 - (20 6th Street Northeast, former Totino's site)
Thanks for the recent photos! Always liked the red on this one, and the balconies add a lot. But a wider cornice would have been nice. Looks so awkward at the top.

Re: Thresher Square Hotel & Apartments - Washington & Chicag
The building still seems active with tenants, so no sign of progress there... I'd rather see the apartment portion being done first so they can get the retail going. They can rehab for the hotel last if the market is truly there. I think the building as is would fill again once there is more office...

Re: 729 Washington Av N
Walking by the property yesterday, If the property includes all the parking from the Freeman's parking lot to next door to bunkers that will be a very wide or long building. Do anyone know if this property is just fronting Washington, or does it go all the way back to 3rd? I'm also assuming that th...

Re: Stanton Condo Building - 516 S. 8th St.
The Skyscape development is nearly the exact same lot size and they managed to completely wrap their parking ramp with condo units and commercial. It is possible that commercial/retail may not be very successful on this site (i.e. good first floor uses) but I think it is terrible that the city is al...

So is that to say you have to have a Viking ticket in order to get into the parking ramp on game day?? "1,600 parking spaces provided in the parking ramp, 963 spaces will be dedicated to Vikings premium patrons for home games" Well, it says that 963 need Premium tickets, not just any tick...

I like the 6 pane windows. Helps to naturally break up the façade, instead of just using 12 different colors which we have see too much of lately.

I think USBank is a real possibility. They have been quietly and constantly growing through smaller acquisitions. I think it is their time to anchor something new. Also, they may wish to counter balance all the positive press WF is getting with their downtown east development.

Re: Thresher Square Hotel & Apartments - Washington & Chicag
BRW was there in the 90s. I liked the office layout- the combining of the two buildings at different floor heights made it rather interesting, if not odd in some places. Building had a light scoop on the roof to bring natural light down into the interior. Haven't been inside in years. Probably shoul...

Re: Current & Proposed Downtown Minneapolis Projects
When was the last time we had anything hitting the 40 story mark? 1990 with Capella? Yes I realize that it's taller. Per Emporis (or Wikipedia) It would be the Carlyle... Walked by during lunch today. A group of about 8 suits were posing for "groundbreaking" photos with sledgehammers and pick axes. The photographer was taking quite a few pictures of the group. At the same time workers were taking jersey barriers off a flat bed and lining them up in the alle...

Single basin sinks- truly a first world problem. How do people cope? Can't hardly imagine. We have a dual basin, and certainly prefer it, but it is quite funny to read about how nearly unlivable it would be to have just one basin in a "luxury" apt.

Re: Mill City Quarter - (300 South 2nd Street)
Per F&C, both phases/buildings will break ground next March-ish. A general contractor has been selected for Phase 1 (affordable apartments, possibly marketed to seniors), but not yet for Phase 2 (affordable senior only). It could very well be the same GC for both. It would be interesting to hea...

Re: Convention Center Hotel - (330 South 12th Street)
An interesting side note- there are currently 5 new hotels proposed in Bloomington totaling nearly 1,000 rooms. Three in the south loop near the MOA, one at PennAmerican, and the fifth near Normandale Lake. Recalling the prior discussion about absorption/demand and whether adding a 1,000 room hotel ...

agree. But I think this has been their thinking ever since they moved key staff to Wayzata; even if it is a bad idea.Bill Cooper has made similar threats in the past.
