Re: What will it take to develop DTE?
Aren't all the undeveloped lots going to become 'game-day plazas'.

Re: 600 5th Street North
The HERC just spent a bit of money to improve their loading bays to handle trucks so they wouldn't idle outside and improve smell control in the facility. Stinky trucks are just part of the program until they are in the negative air zone inside the facility.

Re: Burch Pharmacy Building
Plant a double row of trees on the sidewalk edge and no one will care. Don't, and it is a neighborhood depleting blight. The duplex is regrettable, especially its trash filled yard.

Rewatching the animations on you tube, it appears it will all be paved in concrete, except for areas on the east bank of the campus.

Re: Central Corridor LRT
Drove down University this afternoon (94 was closed!) And the stations are getting colors. Green, blue etc. There is also some bizarre glass going in , like a squiggly 90s Greek key design with a train incorporated. The same glass has gone into all of the bus shelters too, except with a bus logo. I ...

2317 Hennepin
There is a rumor around that Ackerberg is raising rents at their building ar 24th and Hennepin to weed out tenants in order to offer it to Trader Joe's. Now they wouldn't be allowed a liquor store because of Kowalski's new wine shop, Lowry Hill liquors and Temple Israel. Annoying rumor, especially i...

Re: Cedar and Franklin redesign idea
Good idea! Especially since the CIty wants to make Washington a "gateway" of sorts to downtown, and having Cedar Ave run directly to Washington would facilitate that reality. That sould also involve reopening Cedar and Washington to the North. 19th ave SE/ 10th ave se.was once the Cedar b...

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations
N-S between clifton place and Lasalle? How would that work, they run roughly parallel. A E-W between Clifton Ave and Lasalle is theoretically possible, it was there historically, except a bridge would be incredibly long and the grade change is around 50 feet.

What in the world is that huge grey box? Is he now just storing the rainwater on the roof? Seems like an awful lot of space for an HVAC penthouse.

Re: Hiawatha Line (Blue Line)
Frustrating for what reason? Do you want affordable rail transit or pork barrel perks. I would take another LRT line without artist designed and ' experiencial' stations if it meant keeping it within a reasonable budget. The CCLRT seems to have streamlined station design for ease of maintenance and ...

Re: Nicollet Residences
I hated the Nicollet. I thought the arc was cheesy. I think Nicollet Residences will still be a great project if it ever gets off the ground.
