Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'

Still gonna be a long and boring inside walk from that fancy hotel, as there's no other route than through the library, 365, Xcel, the Nic and Fifth Street Towers until you no skyway level retail until you get to there (with the Nic's being empty). Pretty much the same situation at street level. Th...

Like freeways have straight miles so they can be used as emergency airstrips during time of war.
This is an urban myth.

I thought she was announcing on Sunday, February 10. Did that change?

Re: Federal Reserve Riverfront Parking Ramp

On a sidenote, the lack of "direct" connection between Mill District and North Loop, both on Washington, is also noticeable with recent growth in both neighborhoods. I'd say, in the short term, route 7 should serve Washington Ave (instead of 1st St - Hennepin - 4th St - 4/5th Aves zig-zag...

How will porte cocheres be re-purposed when we ban cars?
They will be lovely awnings to keep people out of the rain and snow no matter the mode of transportation.

It's fascinating how dividing the signage issue is on this forum. I find it rather surprising. My preference is no sign. Actually, very strongly, no sign. One of the things I appreciate about our skyline is the lack of corporate logos at the top of our buildings. It's irrelevant if other cities allo...

Seems pretty clear, call it the Prince Remembrance Garden and the city should be in the clear.

Anyone care to give thoughts on what MOA will do with the Sears space? Tear it down for a taller office building or another hotel? Or try to fill it in like they did (or are still doing) with Bloomingdale's?

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan

I find it fun to see how other cities are reacting to the 2040 plan. Here’s Philadelphia. They put together a panel of people to discuss if it could work there, where the median house value is much lower and density is already higher: www.philly.com/news/minneapolis-single-family-zoning-philadelphia...

But why wouldn't you just make the 601 an extension of the Option 7 routing?
They do let you add comments on the survey. FWIW, when asked to pick your preferred route, I chose option 5, but added that I would prefer option 7 if it continued down France all the way to Southdale.

(In this case getting close to the river and having the option to connect with the library, I would obviously never suggest the connection through the old federal reserve as a great option but I'm more concerned about the feeling in cancer survivors park and the light impact etc etc.) On the flip s...

Is this project officially dead? BP has a sign up saying they’re not closing. And a hiring sign on the door. I asked the cashier and he didn’t think they were ever planning to close. But that doesn’t seem true.

Does it provide change when you don’t have exact fare? Can you pay with your phone? Or use your phone as a Go-To Card? It seems like a lot of money to just add swipeable transfers (and MAYBE credit cards in the future).

I'm trying to figure out how the people on the lawn section behind the suite tower building are going to see the stage. Presumably there is going to be some pitch to the lawn and the building doesn't appear to have a 40' high gap in it more like 20'-25'. I have a hard time figuring how the people a...

All the road construction has definitely changed the traffic patterns in the Mill Distrist. For what it’s worth, 2nd Street, Washington and 3rd Street are always gridlocked too during evening rush hour.
