Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
The issue with the signals is that it's like half priority. It seems that the signals attempt to change for the train but since it changes late often times the train slows Down even when not necessary. So let alone it has to stop sometimes, it is going 10 mph instead of the 20-30 it goes in between ...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
I was on university ave with a friend and I saw some good and bad things. They were doing practice runs and the bad that I saw was that although lights were somewhat timed, trains slowed for by each light. The good was that it was kind of timed for the trains and lights were very brief for turns, on...

Re: Target Center Renovation
I understand that it is not the most attractive but at least the entrance has been moved to the corner. I feel as though the problem with the target center was an outdated interior, even more so than the exterior. So even if it looks a little crappy on the outside, I think the inside will be done we...

Re: 4Marq - (313' - 30 Stories)
I feel like this may be the last large downtown apartment building for a year or two that gets the ok to build or is even proposed. Unless nic on fifth and soo line fill up, which they haven't yet, there will be a slow down. However, I think there will be an increase in condo projects.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
If there is no signal priority and the line is running mostly through developed corridors, I don't see it being much faster than a bus. It will also have irregular arrivals to stops. So either it must get signal priority or it will be a big bus.

Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
Website: The Bridges, an 11-story, 210-unit building with fully furnished studio, 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom apartments, offers a unique and comfortable lifestyle for one or more students. Four bedroom apartments is crazy. It's understandable because it is student housing but that for sure is the reason...

All of this looks amazing. If they build even just half of what is on that pdf it will be great.

Also I don't like the streetcar idea because I don't fond a benefit in streetcars as a whole.

How about an 11th grader thinking to hell with traffic pronlems, development and density is always the first solution and the only option.

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
The point on the Volunteers of America building is true because its low-income housing in the wrong spot. I don't think they can really do anything about it since it houses so many people. Personally, my old Russian grandma is very lucky to live in this building. She lives right in the middle of the...

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
True I see your point. Then it becomes an arguement of where to draw the line of what is considered reasonable to all. But for me, personally, I am happy that this project is now somewhat of an outlier because it sets precedent for more to be built further out. I just considered loring park still pa...

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
These people make me sick. One comment said good bye neighborhood. He might as well call downtown a small old Minnesota neighborhood. How dumb can people be? This is part of downtown, the big residential portion, where you build these, I don't get it.

Re: Twin Cities Underground Rail
I emailed Connie Kozlak about what has been going on with the underground rail proposal. We talked and she explained what I was thinking, Minneapolis is not dense enough for underground rail. Don't get me wrong, I would really like to see Minneapolis have a subway system, but I knew it is not really...

Re: Corner Apartments - (2nd St NE and 1st Ave NE)
However I've always wondered how long can these buildings last, like will they just have to be reconstructed? Like two stories of wood starts to creak in 30 years. What shape will 5 stories be in in that time frame?

Re: Corner Apartments - (2nd St NE and 1st Ave NE)
You're right john but something is better than nothing. Like I'd rather have a cheap 6 story than a parking lot. Because we have these apartment buildings and as the condo market improves you will have condos built on other sites. So no problem exists.

Re: Target Center Renovation
As a timberwolves fan, the timberwolves should be nowhere else than minneapolis. That's where basketball came back to Minnesota and it should continue to stay there.
Besides that, minneapolis needs an arena, and it attracts events and people to Hennepin.
