Re: Downtown Minneapolis Riverfront - Mill Ruins Park - Waterworks
Closing the lock was never about the carp anyways. It has everything to do with redeveloping the "blighted" industrial riverfront north of the locks. That much was made clear if you attended any of the "re-imagine the riverfront" workshops in winter 2015.

Cardon Development of Phoenix specifically. http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2017/01/20/only-bidder-for-st-paul-riverfront-site-pitches.html 5 star hotel, parking, housing, office space mixed use. Hey! we've got another proposal! First completely new one in a while it seems: http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2017/01/05/music-venue-hotel-planned-near-target-field.html Another music venue by United Properties, this one with a hotel on top and overlooking the new Target Field Station pl...

It's a safe seat so no loss on the national level. However, it would probably take him away from MN politics and any local races he could influence or run for in the future.

Oh christ, grow the f*** up. I'm already sick of this worthless fearmongering. It does nothing. Trump isn't hitler or putin or a dictator and never will be. Not in this country. The party base needs to stop acting like petulant children and start figuring out what went wrong and how we can make sure...

I actually don't think it would be that hard to beat Daudt if he ends up being the nominee. He's boring and un-energetic and in general I don't think he has as tight of control over his outstate caucus as we're let to believe. I'd look for who would match up best against the toughest possible candid...

This is stolen from a friend who is far more eloquent than I (on a different forum): Are you serious? Democrats ignored/excluded/offended blue collar middle class whites more than Republicans? Free trade isn't an idea espoused by Democrats. Union busting isn't a Democratic value. Cutting taxes for ...

Folks, the last thing we need right now is to tear each other apart. We need to hang together and fight. We're in the fight of or lives. All three branches are going Republican. Agreed. But I will say that I wouldn't worry about complete Republican control too much. The silver linings is there is a...

Re: Presidential Election 2016
I think the Democrats need to square up to the fact that the majority of the country just isn't buying what the party is selling. In 2020 they need a new, even more populist message. The good news is that the VAST majority of the things we discuss on this site aren't really impacted by national poli...
