Re: Transit Crime
Out of the box idea that just came to me, many train lines in Tokyo have female only cars during rush hour. What if we dedicate one car in the train to be more lax on enforcement of smoking, drugs, drinking, etc. The transit police would only have to patrol the other cars regularly, and if people ar...

Re: West End area - St. Louis Park / Golden Valley
Would the trains use the express lane in addition to the buses that currently use it?

Just for fun, I figured I'd share this. The idea of doing something similar, however, is giving me flashbacks to R.T. Rybak's water fountain experience. lol

Re: Transit Crime
I thought metro transit explicitly allowed housing insecure folks to use trains/buses for resting areas as long as they weren’t actively disturbing folks, like panhandling etc. If so, I actually like this policy. I don’t think it’s a be all solution, however I find it to be a very empathetic way to ...

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
This is super rough math, but looking at the schedules for the 6 and the 17 (the two routes that use this part of Hennepin) after 9 pm, between the two routes, there appear to be about 6-8 busses per hour, in each direction. With this is mind, maybe a 6 am - 9 pm bus only lane would work. Again, I s...

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
What about bus-only lanes from 6 am - 8 pm, or something like that. As much as I support transit, and I support bringing back night bus service, I get that it’s difficult to sell 24 hour bus only lanes to the public when buses don’t run 24 hours a day on the route.

I had never actually considered shortening it. Would stopping it in Anoka allow for more frequent service?

Re: Public schools, charter schools, private schools
Perhaps. That wasn't the case at Minnehaha Academy, I can't think of a person in my graduating class that you'd term "powerful" nowadays. Most were grateful to their parents for sending them there, went to college, and got Middle to lower Upper Class jobs in business, as doctors, as lawye...

Re: Beltline Station Area – St. Louis Park
Are you thinking a skyway like bridge from the development to the trail bridge?Lost opportunity to not have a trail-link to the trail bridge for the residents. Very extended detour to get onto the trail to the Midtown Greenway, lakes, or bike commute to downtown (whenever that reopens some year)

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
If the Post Office ever vacates one of their riverfront buildings, my dream is that someone turns it into a really fancy spa/bathhouse. Sort of a Therme Vals operation. Not a museum, but a big attraction certainly. Imagine soaking in a big warm pool in an art deco room with windows out onto the Mis...
