Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image
Silly stuff, but in spite of Shazam being set in Philadelphia, the Sivana company HQ is the IDS Center. Clear as day a two second scene of downtown Minneapolis with the Sivana logo on top of the IDS building. I noticed the Minneapolis shot with the IDS but what I screamed out loud was when they sai...

Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester
Okay but that riverfront project would have been a real game changer and what a nice riverfront promenade for everyone to enjoy. However this project you mention would tie the towers from both sides of Broadway to a more cohesive downtown. Still can't believe Michael's is gone.

Re: Rochester
The Hyatt House is significantly different from earlier presentations and appears to be about 2 stories shorter as well. Hope it doesn't change further. It will be nice to see the Virgil's site redeveloped. Hoping with both hotel and residential it might be a substantial project.

Re: Rochester
I agree I wish they'd redo the entire outside. Those little windows are hideous. I wish somehow they could incorporate the look of the new development going on behind it along the river.

So after reading the article I don't see if anything is actually replacing it as was proposed some time ago.

If anything instead of building over Cancer Survivors Park, tunnel under it. It would really destroy any visual beauty left from the original Federal Reserve.

Re: Rochester
The original Gonda bulding is blah, the connection to the Mayo is nice. The Hotel portion will be a great addition and will make the building much better.

Much better than that mirrored glass that acted more like a wall. Also interesting proposal off to the south.

Re: Arby’s Island
I don't know if all 3 corners are going to be rounded but the one shown could be cool to have a 2 story glass penthouse on top, and if the other 2 corners were rounded as well they could have have them 2, or even if not. Each with their own patio decks.

A side note, if you have an elderly neighbor please consider shoveling their sidewalk as well. You just might get a batch of fresh baked cookies.

Re: Thrivent's Surface Parking Lots
I'm hoping that the new building will be beautiful and could possibly be a very nice base for a tower or two of slim residential and perhaps hotel developments.
