Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

a lot of downtown residents use uber and lyft on nights and weekends, even to go to places like target. I know because I pick a lot of them up. It's not the cheapest, obviously, but it's probably less than the cost of car ownership if they have cheaper modes available during the week.

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

There really aren't any better alternatives for me still. I was already on the 100 plan. I don't really need 300, but I'll take it.

I'm more annoyed about the $8.00/month rental on future equipment (if current breaks/is slow/etc). I hope there's a purchase option.

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

they've installed some kind of sensors in the ceilings of the parking garages which will probably detect openings. I've parked in other facilities with these and they're quite nice and efficient.

With the exception of a food service restaurant and fitness center, Buidling B (the center building) at Excelsior crossings has been vacant for a while.

This is great. Pretty much supports my theory that a few vocal opposers are drowning out the overwhelming support online. Everybody I've had conversations with in the neighborhood supports it.

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

It's just such a head scratcher. I would think that forward thinking businesses would value the increased service, and it makes me question if I want to patronize them (I've already stopped going to Turtle Bread).

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

according to one of the building owners on NextDoor, "every single building owner" in the node is against it. While I highly doubt this is true, they are whipping up a bunch of scare tactics like "remember when there was a gun shop here?" or "remember when things were boarde...

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan

My attitude towards homeownership is the same as yours, having experienced the same thing. That said, some of the opposition I've seen has been from younger, more recent homeowners too. I suspect there are a number of people out there who had to really stretch to buy their homes, and are now very w...

Most unfortunate. Not a frequent customer of Turtle but now even less so. You'd think they'd want more transit options, but they clearly view their customers as walkers and drivers from the immediate area.

Inducing more cars with the third lane during off peak is an unfortunate side effect.

I'm just bracing for multiple years of the car sewer mess this is going to create on local streets.

The south Minneapolis campus is employees in the mortgage division. Pre-campus many years ago most were downtown or at a site across from the Mall of America. The downtown location is just about everything else back office they have in town, they also still have some space in the Wells Fargo Tower. ...
