Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
I seem to recall LA Fitness was scouting locations downtown, that was probably well over a year ago. I would love to see them take one of the top Sak's floors.

Re: Alatus St. Anthony Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site)
I like the modern design; however they're totally underutilizing this prime site. I can't believe they aren't making the building wider and using the full width of the lot so they can have more skyline facing units.

Re: Downtown East Project (Ryan Companies / Wells Fargo)
Some really unfortunate precast concrete facade panels just appeared on the 5th Av. side of Wells Fargo tower, framing what appears to be a doorway, window or other opening. If the two WF towers are going to be clad in that flat, monochromatic material, they're going to be the Multifoods Towers of ...

Re: Minneapolis - St. Paul Business News
Just for some additional accounting perspective... lets say hypothetically the value of the land is close to $46bln, that doesn't mean the company is worth $46bln. The land is just an asset, so you have to take out their liabilities (which according to their balance sheet is about $30bln). The remai...

Even considering the growth in this area, we've got to be reaching a saturation point for grocery stores in this area.

Re: LPM Apartments - (376' - 36 Stories)
I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with that until you provide some proof. I'd have to argue that there is a lot of money in Loring park and people with it have probably been waiting for a building of this calibre to move into. Obviously proof does not exist at this time; the only judge wil...

Location location location. The type of people that can afford this are not the type of people who want to live in loring park.

I'm still hopeful that saks might end up in this space. They did mention a few months ago that they were actively scouting other locations downtown.

When is this one going before the Historical Preservation Committee? Any speculation on whether or not they will be supportive of their tentative plans?

Re: Gold Medal Plaza - (935 Second Street South)
I'm somewhat surprised that nothing has happened with this site yet. With all of the momentum in downtown east and the quick sales pace of the stone bridge lofts, I would have anticipated that by now something would have started happening here.
