So with all that time due to the delay, are they going to do any investigation to see who made a mistake so they can delay their paycheck for 3 years!?
…or is the delay not big enough to warrant time for such a investigation process?

Re: Northern Lights Express
Operated by Amtrak.. does that mean no fancy colorful NLX train wrap? ..I liked the old NLX designs but I kinda like the idea of packaging it under the Northstar kinda like we have the METRO we could have Northstar to St. Cloud, Northstar to Duluth, Northstar to Rochester, Northstar to Mankato, and ...

Re: Eagan, Apple Valley, Burnsville - General Topics
Honestly, it seems like a massive mistake for Chipotle. An oversized awning and carside pickup seemed like a far better option. It allows for out of order (line) service based on who ordered what first/what is made currently. Plus with recent staffing issues long lines and irrate customers could hol...

1. Park Board could (and almost certainly would) deny municipal consent. 2. Believe it or not, Victory Memorial Drive is in Robbinsdale city limits, as Xerxes Ave is the border. The entire park ROW (roadway, trail, and all lawn areas, etc.) is technically in Robbinsdale. I wanted to opine a bit on ...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
The Orange Line isn't the only bus that uses the E-ZPass lanes and the E-ZPass lanes, including the new southbound one just built, would exist without the Orange Line. So no, it's not accurate to include them in the cost. I'm also not sure why we think 98th Street is a more suitable end for the Ora...

Re: Purple Line BRT (Rush Line Corridor)
I'd say nix the Co Rd. E and Cedar Ave station and instead route it down Lydia Ave and up E Country Line Rd and ad one stop at Century College. Plus that route would allow potential development just north of Silver Lake that could warrant an additional station down the line.

Could Victory Memorial Drive be used up to the CP spur? 1. Park Board could (and almost certainly would) deny municipal consent. 2. Believe it or not, Victory Memorial Drive is in Robbinsdale city limits, as Xerxes Ave is the border. The entire park ROW (roadway, trail, and all lawn areas, etc.) is...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
Meh. Ridership on this $150 million project better be good to justify the huge cost. I'm pretty frustrated with Metro Transit service lately on regular routes. The Route #23 down 38th Street continues to be delayed by detours including the never-ending rerouting around George Floyd Square and const...

Re: RBC Gateway (Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 519'
The glass on this building is really easy on the eyes. This tower has the tendency to really fade into the sky a bit, almost as if it's partially transparent. It's extremely visible from many angles around the city, but (in contrast to Eleven) rarely ever leaps out at you. Maybe that wasn't what th...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
Would be nice to have the red carpet rolled out a bit more though. I'm not worried that people who work there know how to get in, I just wish that there could be changes that would respect the transit service a little more. It sends a message when the front door faces the parking lot versus the sta...

Now that Viking River Cruises is in St. Paul and another unit is bringing a Great Lakes cruise ship to Duluth.... Imagine they offered some sort of "Great American Interior" adventure from Toronto to St. Louis or New Orleans. Land portage provided by Northern Lights Express - they'd want ...

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT
Why invest in grade separation when there’s a big wide road already? Plus The area seems pretty dense with small single-family house. North loop would have value added with a tunnel station that better connect to the center instead of the edge. Then again not much space to reconnect with existing in...

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project
Can’t wait until we get a Burnsville center redevelopment and the orange line is extended there as well. Would be nice to see 2-4 stations there on the end as well kinda like 494 area has 2. If it’s the end of the line why not. Provided ridership would be enhanced. I think it might be a bit of a fan...

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
Serious question.. what about pairing it with a bus route? During off peak times having a bus instead of train that would service the stations with hourly service then riders would have dependable hourly service during the daytime and if those busses start to get crowded they could upgrade to half h...

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
It would be awesome if even for 6 months they bumped the frequency of this line to see if it worked better. Probably not possible but one can dream. It would be possible if they bit the bullet and added a third main track between Minneapolis and at least Coon Creek Junction. Northstar is definitely...

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
Now if they only opened those hwy 4-6 times a day during peak times and gave ya a 4min windows to start your trip before closing it down again then I think we’ll be playing fair.. until then we must endure an unfair game with the 24 hour freeway always being open like a all night grocery store..

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar
The stated reason is more trains crossing 24th would degrade intersection operations too much. IRC the original concept was for the Blue Line to end in the MOA. The Mall originally said no because they were afraid of park and hiders using their ramps, so we got the skyway proposal, then they change...

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar
Some notes from the CAC meeting tonight that I'm typing out while they're fresh in my mind from the meeting: -both MOA and the city don't want Riverview included with the existing grade crossing at 24th Avenue & Old Shakopee Road considering the already long wait times with the Blue Line -two o...

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
If Northstar trains were used to build northern lights express I would completely support it. Given the limits to expand services beyond 3-4 trains a day I’d say it’s time to find a “healthy divorce” option. Expanding service to St. Cloud sounds nice but hourly service during the day is unrealistic ...
