Re: North Loop Green - Hines - 350 N 5th St(?) - 35 stories / 393'
I inquired about the parking here and was told the lots would be closing for redevelopment in August. (!!)

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
It's an old building with existing kitchen infrastructure in place. It should be relatively cheap space where a new restauranteur could plug in easily. Hope sooner rather than later.

Re: Bassett Creek Valley Redevelopment
I think this belongs here: Chicago developer wants to add 95 apartments to hot Glenwood corridor 95-unit market rate project with 80 parking stalls. The Bassett Creek Valley Redevelopment Oversight Committee supports the market rate units as to not concentrate poverty in an area where other low inco...

Re: Proposed Tower in Wedge @ Frank/Lyn
"Height varies from 6 to 8 stories, following the topography of the site." So basically a 5 over 1. What a disappointment after seeing the 20 story rendering. A tower would have a great presence over the Henn/Lyn/94 interchange and command great views over downtown. How did the 10-15 story...

Unlocked F&C article with some photos. Building Blocks: Doran tops out luxury apartments https://finance-commerce.com/2019/09/building-blocks-doran-tops-out-luxury-apartments/ And, looks like work has started on the neighboring mid rise portion, which will have 574 units according to the article...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
The bi-directional bikeway on 28th street is just temporary for the Greenway detour, right? Really makes you think how much more useful 26th/28th would be if they were two way. Obviously signal reworking at Lyndale, Nicollet, Dupont, etc. is the biggest barrier, but I think that investment would pay...

Re: Federal Reserve Riverfront Parking Ramp
I agree, it is all pretty ridiculous, but there will probably have to be some compromise. Since they legally can't develop themselves, they should sell off to a developer that could be far more creative with it. Coming back with a proposal for a couple hundred parking spaces and a couple hundred res...

Neel Kashkari was on WCCO radio this morning and was asked about the ramp. He reiterated that they have a parking problem (lol) and said something to the effect of "we're not done yet." Very ominous.

Re: City Club Apartments - 1000 Marquette Ave (Handicraft Building)
I think it turned out well, it just looks undersized for the downtown core - it's just barely taller than it is wide. Really shows the difference in office vs multifamily floor height.

Re: North Loop Green - Hines - 350 N 5th St(?) - 36 stories / ~400'(?)
Agreed on the comments on vehicle access up a ways. If you have good signage off 3rd Ave and direct office contract and resident parking there, it could work. Might as well not give a reason to direct 500+ cars a day to 5th St. Then have a nice auto court for Ubers/drop-offs that are probably 15-20%...

Re: North Loop Green - Hines - 350 N 5th St(?) - 36 stories / ~400'(?)
It will definitely be a big change to views of the skyline from a distance as it is the first big leap past Hennepin. When US Bank Stadium was announced in 13/14, I thought at the time we would see the skyline start to shift south and east. That's happened to an extent, but the pull of the North Lo...

We saw this coming, but here it is in the business journal. Super disappointing. We got two towers in the 70/80s, three (edit: four) towers in the 2010s, will the HPC be reset in 30 years to allow another round? Tower proposal near St. Anthony Main gets a 24-story haircut https://www.bizjournals.com...

Re: Wells Fargo Redevelopment - 801 Portland - 16 stories - 180'
If I remember the renderings correctly you're right, there is a small portion next to the alley that is a single story. But all of the new retail square footage is along 8th under the tower. 3-4 walkup units on Park as shown in the plans must be staying.
