Similar to the Strib article, but also comparing the Green Line to other urban LRT lines and a more detailed response from the City:

The construction techniques being used on the tower portion seem really strange. Some concrete floors, some steel beams, and the new floors seem to have no steel or concrete between them.

Write to St. Paul (councilmembers, mayor, public works), and tell them this is unacceptable. I have and so far received some very promising responses.Westbound from union, my train has stopped at almost every light in st. Paul

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
I've heard more than once around the Prospect Park and Westgate stations while on board, "Are we in St Paul/Minneapolis now?". I have to say, the Mpls-StP border has got to be about the worst for placement treatment anywhere: no one knows which city they're in and even I had to keep check...

Opus does appear to playing it too safe with the Ritz block, wanting to do the block themselves rather than take on a partner with deep pockets & experienced operators. That is a huge mistake on Opus' part, they do need to change their mind on what is best for the development & the city's b...

I think the whole point of the hot tub hanging over the sidewalk is to see and be seen. Plus it is a unique feature, so I am sure it will be photographed a lot.

But if she is substituting the LRT for a bus she used to take and that bus hit every red light she'd have been late too... I can't count how many times I've BARELY missed a connection on a bus and had to wait 12 minutes for the next one. Lots of things are out of our control. I say strive for bette...

but people should also plan ahead for unexpected delays if they're at risk for losing their job whether by car bus or train. I agree we need to plan for delays, but we don't know the circumstances for this woman's particular incident. Maybe she was coming from another job, or needed to bring her ki...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Rode from downtown St. PAUL do downtown Minneapolis this afternoon, and was stopped at EVERY SINGLE LIGHT between the Capitol and highway 280 except Pascal and Cleveland. Added nearly 15 minutes to the trip. I felt bad for one lady who was going to miss her connecting bus because of the delays. She ...

Re: Suburbs - General Topics
Roughly 3 out of every 4 jobs are created in the suburbs. Is this the statistic from the Star Tribune article a couple weeks ago? If so, I thought that was just blue collar jobs. Then the next week they came out with an article that said the urban core was where most white collar jobs were being cr...

A tr...

I li...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
A couple quotes that have been bothering me: From: http://bringmethenews.com/2014/07/21/seriously-bad-engineering-stop-lights-slow-green-line/ But in consideration of pedestrians and traffic, St. Paul city officials are not eager to allow the Green Line to automatically trigger green lights on the r...
