Strib: Minneapolis skyway retailers stuck in limbo: 'It's been absolute devastation' https://www.startribune.com/minneapolis-skyway-business-owners-watch-wait-hope/600039326/#14 Went for a walk in the Skyways on Thursday at lunch time, and probably half of the restaurants were open, but everyone th...

I thought they had more space than that in US Bank Plaza. I can't find how many floors they have. https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2021/03/24/ernst-young-smaller-office-flexible-work.html This article says the had 2 floors for a total of 42k sq/ft at US Bank Plaza. Re: North Loop Neighborhood

Seems that Bassett Creek runs through the property underground through here. I don’t expect this to daylight the creek, but I hope it is on the list of future possibilities. The feasibility study on daylighting creeks in Hennepin even rated this stretch right through here as doable. Maybe that’s th...

Re: Old Spaghetti Factory to Pinstripes

Does anyone know if Pinstripes is still happening? Their press release said opening Spring of 2021, but walked by there the other day and it didn't look like anything was happening.

Would be disappointing if Old Spaghetti Factory closed for nothing.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

I have reached out to Lisa Goodman about some of my concerns and she has been very responsive and has detailed out things she is personally working on.

I would suggest anyone that has ideas to reach out to her personally.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

How do we know for sure they will keep paying the lease? Maybe they can pay a fee to break it early. Either way, they can afford it. Target owns most of their real estate, City Center was an anomaly. It was also disconnected by a couple of blocks from their other buildings. This is exactly why I am...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

What I don't get is that most offices are being reconfigured to give more space to employees. Why would Target stop using 1 million square feet of office space, but still pay the lease on it? Pure speculation, but could it be possible that they already found another tenant to sub-lease that space? S...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

This will be a great opportunity to an a condo conversation. I'm not sure what floors Target occupies, but think about the views. Convert the entire building to residential. Except for the deep floor plates, but yes I thought of this too and I would concider purchasing there! Sent from my Pixel 2 X...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

Long term this might not be so bad. I can see if/when the demand for in person office space increases Target may be looking at building another tower on the Let it Be site, thus owning all of their office space and having it all centralized around the current HQ. Now if they sell that site, I would ...

Re: Ideas / Wish List for Mpls in 2021

The city needs to work on getting people back downtown. If COVID restrictions are lifted by fall, I would like to see the city work with the Daytons Project to bring back the annual holiday show, and Bachmanns Flower Show. Also move the holiday market back to Peavy Plaza, and bring back the Holidazz...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - General Topics

I am not implying that all condo owners are wealthy, just that the economics of owning a condo isn't going to change much from now until after COVID. It seems like buyers are taking a wait and see approach, thus leaving units on the market for longer than we have seen over the past few years. I was ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

What I have noticed in my building is people are not moving out due to COVID or crime, but moving out due to life events (moving for family, having kids etc.), so we are not seeing any more people moving out than in previous years, but it is taking longer for the units to sell. My theory is right no...

One of the worst and most well-known crimes in MN history happened in the St. Michael area. What crime are you referring to? I grew up in the area and I'm curious about what you mean. I am curious too. I grew up 5 miles from downtown St. Micheal and haven't heard of any horrific crime either. Sent ...

Crane is up, though it doesn't look like it is at full height. Wonder if they need to keep it lower due to the HCMC helipad next door.

If the alternative given is for a taller building with the same unit count, then I would not be surprised if they determined the unit count based on available parking in the pre-designed full block underground ramp that they put in for the Thrivent building. Currently there is no parking on the vac...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood

Does anyone know which project just had the tower crane put up this past week a block off the 94 viaduct? From the looks of it, it appears to be for a 8-10 story building.
