Looks like the owners hope the closing is temporary. The only threads for Minneapolis restaurants is Downtown and Uptown so I'll post here.
The Blue Nile just closed after 30+ years of operation:

Re: Holidazzle Market
Has anyone else gone to this? Went this past weekend and to be honest, it was quite an embarrassment. It looked like an event setup for a town of 1,000 people, not a major metropolitan area of 3.5 million.

Re: Suburbs - General Topics
Yeah, the amount of small suburbs we have (let alone the really tiny ones like Hilltop, Landfall, Mendota, etc) is kind of ridiculous. I'm not sure who benefits from that. Is it a coincidence that both Hilltop and Landfall are primarily trailer parks? Mendota I understand due to its historical natu...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Aside from a center platform, the simplest option for improving the transfer would be to implement signal priority on the LRT tracks in downtown Minneapolis. If the trains can be more consistently scheduled downtown, For the most part I never get stopped at signals downtown Minneapolis except for a...

Re: Downtown East - Wells Fargo / Radisson Red / Edition Apt
Last week they started putting metal panels on the screening. Looks much better than the just having the fencing up.I just wish that screening on top wasn't so easy to see through! Why couldn't they make it just a bit more opaque!!!??

Do our LRV's still get delivered by rail? Besides near the Sabo bridge, I can't think of anywhere else our LRT tracks connect up to the freight network.

I like how the block turned out. Interesting article regarding St. Paul http://www.roadsbridges.com/going-green If you look at the PDF attached to the article it states that the average cross street vehicle delays decreased by 11 seconds after predictive priority was deployed, and turning mainline traffic delay decreased by 23 sec...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
At least that one doesn't affect the train at all -- it just stops roadway traffic. While rare, I have been on the train several times and have been stopped by that light. On a side note, it seems that Vandalia has become a bit better over the past couple weeks. It seemed like trains were getting s...

Just talked to Dan Lessor, project manager, who I coincidentally ran into while waiting for my bus across from 4marq. He said that the city fire inspector said they can't have the precast reaching all the way to the top floor. He didn't go into too much detail because I don't like frying people wit...

I was just thinking about this the other day. I compared renderings and the final product, and they do look pretty similar, and the crown appears to be close to the same size as the renderings: Rendering: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.mchughconstruction.com/photos/58b68f22-6975-4ce5...

Does anyone know if Xcel is the sole tenant/owner in that building? Or is it a multi-tenant building that Xcel has the naming rights?here's their recently completed building in Denver.

The company I work for has done stack testing several times for HREC and while there is pollution, it is well within the acceptable limits.but I have to suspect that there is in fact someone monitoring this.

There were a few people working inside the corner retail space this morning. Has there been any word on what will be going in that space? Also they have turned on the exterior lighting, which consists of a vertical band from near the base to the top at the corner of Washington and Huron and some acc...

Re: Former Macy's Site
The PiPress has a source confirming that the first tenant here will be Walgreens. Final approval probably won't happen until August, though. The article says that the new space is about 5x the size of the current Walgreens across the street (25,000 feet vs 5,000). http://www.twincities.com/localnew...
