The skyway between the two buildings went up sometime in the past couple weeks.

Do we know any details about Wells Fargo's plans for workers? How much of their other space will they be vacating?

As I understand it, all of their other space except the Wells Fargo Center. So, the offices in the Baker building, their Home Mortgage building(s?) in Phillips, and whatever other offices they have around the metro. I'm not sure if they'll be staying in their tower in St. Paul.

That would be news to me if they are leaving there 28th and I-35 campus which they own. I believe they are moving from rented spaces out in the burbs and the class B downtown. Doubt they would give up their presence in DT St. Paul either.

No. There will still be plenty of other sites around the metro and even in Mpls.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some space vacated at Wells Fargo Center as well. WF currently occupies only about 1/3 of the tower and as much as I love the building, it is very much a product of the 80's and lacks the sort of ameneties that can be built into the DTE project. I wouldn't expect anyone to be moved from the Home Mortgage campus or major suburban locations like Shelard (yes, to me it is still Shelard :) )

I work for a Wells Fargo subsidiary. Everything I have seen says it's still being determined. I believe I am not moving. We're in LaSalle Plaza.

Also the move will be staggered not all at once.

I think the moved will be done as leases expire in 2015 and 2016. I believe that the Shelard office space (me too) is one of their newer leases that came about a year before they made the DTE decision. I think that would be 2020 if not longer than that before that lease is up.

Well, I guess it blocks the view of the jail from one angle, at least.

I like very much! Has the look of 3 different building that could have been built in 3 different time periods. I like the 3 different color schemes, and even the set back balconies of the left vs the hanging balconies of the 2 on the left. They work in contrasting with each other and still work very nicely together. Like that the middle building is set back from the outside two so that they work well alone or as a group.

How did I miss that there's going to be retail in that building fronting the park? That makes me hate it a whole lot less.

That's why I've never figured out the desire to put a restaurant IN the park itself - it seems like the first floor of this building should work. I can't tell, but is there retail on both ends of the ground floor?

So glad to finally see this rendering! It is pretty good and thankfully it does block out the ugly jail building.

I wonder how much they're marketing these at, because I can definitely see apartments or condos facing the stadium across the park going for a fortune later, if not now.

...and the ones facing the jail being a tough sell.

Eh...maybe not.

That is where you put your smaller units where people only sleep there, but spend most of their time outside their apartment. The park units are where they will make their profit from.

I believe the retail will just be the NE (?) corner of that block, according to presentations made by the folks designing the park.

They have started piling for the front residential sections of the WF project. I'll have to take a look at the posterior sections since they will be going up in a similar time frame.
