Look closely at the image in the middle on the left -- seems to be going into 510 Marquette.

Looks like the proposed skyway is 'just west of the middle' on the submitted drawings. The strib also mentioned a proposed skyway link to the now defunct Nieman Marcus store- http://m.startribune.com/news/?id=180069021

I don't recognize some of the buildings in that middle-left pic. Or is that what you're pointing out?

The middle rendering is looking down Nicollet to the south. They got the roof line of Renaissance Square wrong.

I didn't really know where else to throw this, so I figured I'd toss it on one of his buildings:

Let's face it, this building just has seriously bad Karma.

It is turning into a schizophrenic mess. Was by again the other day and it just looks like someone made a huge mistake when they put the windows in with horizontal instead of vertical separation mulleins. Like they were asleep at the computer or came to work with a major hangover and did not focus on what was going on.

Walked through the skyway near the building today, and the access into the buildings little green space that was on the second floor was blocked off.

Are there ANY renderings of what it is proposed to look like? Other than the announcements of the sale, it has been rather hush-hush. I wonder if they will be removing more of those vertical concrete columns on the base? I'm unsure if they were removed to provide better construction access to the interior of the building, or if they are doing this because they indeed are going to reclad this section.

This building has been a hot mess since it was built. I do like Cass Gilbert's original design better, but it had some of the same problems City Center has in terms of being an uninviting fortress. At least it isn't the color of old meat.

Campbell Mithun will be the main office tenant, vacating their current namesake building at 222 S 9th Street at the end of 2014. http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/b ... -move.html

I have heard through reliable sources that the plans are to have retail with prominent street frontage in this project, so say goodbye to the fortress!. No news of retail tenants yet, however.

From the article-
So why would Campbell Mithun move? It probably saves the company money moving from the Class A tower to a renovated Class B building. Plus, I've heard nothing but cool things about the 'guts' of the 510 Marquette building that Abdul has uncovered during the current renovation.
Like what???

Totally missed that story. It seems every year or two there is something with him. There was the union worker fights, the accusations of skimming cash from his clubs, the shootings INSIDE his clubs resulting in deaths, the shootings OUTSIDE his clubs resulting in deaths, the overcharging the feds on renovation work, stiffing his contractors at his house, etc. It's really unbelievable.

I like their attitude! Makes me even more optimistic there is going to be some strong or prominent retail locating on the street level.

Basically the same as what the Strib article says but there is a slideshow of some interior shots and a rendering of what they want to do on the rooftop.

Still no renderings of the external renovation? Shouldn't there be a site plan or something in the city council minutes, or do these things not generally go through those channels?
