WOW! 3 cranes! that seems like a lot for such a small site does anybody know what information we can gather from that? I would assume it means that they will have a very high amount of workers trying to complete the site very quickly. Also it could mean they have a lot of pieces they need to move into place on small payloads. Any educated guesses as to why?

I don't think this site is small....it's a full block, 330+ units AND a grocery store. 3 cranes does seem a bit much but 1 crane would have been too few.

Typically, you'd like to have full coverage over your site with cranes. The big tower crane covers most of the site, but because of the radius of the boom doesn't fully cover the square site, it looks like they've supplemented it with the two smaller cranes at the opposite corners.

This may not be the best looking project, but PTL that we're not in Indy. This is in their downtown.

Wow this gives me hope that we can do better than Indy in the Stadium department.

I can't even begin, the fact that that building is new construction almost gives me hives. NONE of our projects are THAT bad.

I talked to the guy at the Downtown Development thing at the Crystal Court. The renderings of the interior and amenities all look REALLY nice, and they had some more renderings of the project, along with a model. It looked pretty cool! I think they guy thought I looked like a potential renter... chyeah. Maybe someday.

I saw the model and was very impressed. The building's massing is more varied that how it appears in the rendering. Nice use of materials for the facade with hardly any concrete board to be seen!! :) . The Washington Ave side and the intersection of Hennepin & Washington in particular are lovely. This project will be a huge asset to downtown.

Since I'm tired of people saying something stinks without any explanation, I'm going to say what I think is wrong with this.

First, it's just bland, that same color all the way across with nothing to break it out. Second, that weird thing jutting out at the top right. What's going on there? Those windows should at least be evenly spaced. There's no windows on the ground floor, which blocks this off from the streetscape. And I'm really not a fan of the Juliet Balcony, I'm not really sure what the point of those is in any project.

Is there a link to the thing going on in the Crystal Court? I tried googling "downtown development crystal court" and the results were from Las Vegas to Montreal, but no Minneapolis. Or maybe it's already over?

I think this building is pretty nice looking, and is going to really help that area of washington and henn.

Was by the 222 today and I see that they have come along ways on the second floor on the east and north side of the building. This would be the first of the wood portion of the building. They seem to be about half way with the concrete support columns for the Whole foods section. I did not get a look at the west side so I'm not sure what activity if any has been going on there.

Ah, that poor, unloved, relocated bus shelter located in the foreground. What a strange life she's lived...

Great view of 222 Spectre ( I think you took it from the Library). So nice to see this vacant lot be filled. Hope it spurs development on the empty parcels both north and south along Hennepin.

Kind of off topic, but does anyone have any information regarding the park that is supposed to be on the Nicollet Hotel block (surface lot N. of the library)?

you're talking about the abominable parking lot that is bordered by Hennepin to the west and Washington to the north? I didn't know that is going to be a park. If so, that's fantastic news.

I wonder what's going to become of the parcel on the other (i.e. on the west) side of Hennepin, just south of the 222 development. I'm on record saying that this would be perfect for a classy 12-15 story spire.
