^^ this is the hardest one yet. I'll mourn this one for many years, and really hope Chef Jonathan Gans stays in our market.

Bachelor Farmer must have been going under before all this. Their family is worth almost $2B. They could have saved it if they wanted to.

Still a shame.

Their family might be worth that much, but they personally certainly aren't.

Maybe things were tight already, but it also didn't seem like a place that could pivot to takeout all that easily (especially given the price point). Considering they have other businesses to keep going, and there's no time frame yet for when they can fully reopen, I'm not surprised they called it quits.

I knew a few people who worked there one of my friends said

"they told us a little... i guess unbeknownst to us they had been struggling to keep up even before the pandemic hit. now they say there’s just no way they could afford to reopen and stuff since everything will be different for a long time still."

I think it was a good time for them to close the Dayton brothers can afford to cut it loose and start a new concept when there market gets better unlike a lot of other business owners.

Does this include Marvel Bar? From the announcement it sounded like it might.

4 Bells has also closed, but there are conflicts on whether it's permanent or not:

All of their food and beverage outlets. Marvel and the cafe as well.

Bus Stop Brewhouse closed at some point in the past few months. There's a "For Lease" sign up now, so I guess it's permanent.

Mixed feelings about that place. They had a great burger and fries, but horrible (duck) wings. Good beer, but they put coke in their Old Fashioned.

It was... not good, especially considering how good McKinney Roe's various Old Fashioneds were. They had a smokey one... Yum.

I'm hoping Fhima's makes it till post-COVID. They've got an amazing smoked old fashioned named "TELEPHONE CALL FROM ISTANBUL"

Me too! My partner and I went to their movie on the patio night a couple weeks ago - it was fun, but it's gonna be hard for them to stay afloat on five patio tables.

I'll be curious to see what the remodel does to the exterior. The river stone facade is fun, but windows would be nice too.

I never made it to Ichiban before they closed - is that a usable second floor or just mechanical space?

They had a bunch (majority?) of teppanyaki tables on the second floor, and an incredible vaulted ceiling. Really the whole restaurant was beautiful inside and out. I miss it dearly.
