If this place has been an auto repair shop for this long I am guessing there would need to be some soil remediation of some sort which would hamper any sale of this property, especially if it involves new development. The only way they give this property up is if the city takes it.

Many of our cities projects have needed soil remediation. There's a fund for helping with that.

Great long article on the future of parking downtown.

https://www.minnpost.com/politics-polic ... de-parking

I’d like a ban on new parking ramps in the core, day between Hennepin, Washington, 3rd or 4th Ave, and 10th St.

But I’m glad there is finally a wakening to the bad effects of a full block of nothing but parking monoliths.
