Go to Menards and pickup a new pump for that long forgotten fountain.

While I wouldn't be upset with another tower here, it just seems to be crowding the block anyways. It was never somewhere I envisioned or wanted one of the next towers. So I'm not really bothered. Just means the opportunity spreads to other more likely sites. It blows by mind how attached people get to every proposal. It's crazy how close some of you get to the edge every time. Deep breaths. So many amazing things are happening in this city. We'll get another tower when we do. In the mean time why don't y'all all work on some new start ups so that we can create more demand for office space... or just continue to spew end of the city Armageddon nonsense from behind your keyboards.
Right. It always seemed strange they were going to tear down one tower (albeit a short, ugly one) to replace it with another one that would sit right on top of the Foshay. Like, I'm not going to say no to that, but it's also not something I'd really cheer lead for.

Just a reminder, that little 4 story building has had many faces. I hope they can give it some substantive style.

I'm still salty about this, and the rendering has only made things worse.

Couldn't they just add 46 stories to this?

Definitely much more bland and boring than what's already there.

I think the rendering just doesn't include the current details. You can tell it's extending general. It looks like they'll keep the current brick, bronze trim and post modern fixtures and remove the 3rd story collenade for more office square footage and better windows. It's a net positive, but obviously nothing dramatic. It's not like anything was promised, there are far better locations for towers etc etc, step back from the ledge friends.

Yes, but I think everybody wants the building to remain ugly and start to fall down. Cause then they would HAVE to build the 50 story tower right? ...It's OK this is the internet, we don't need logic here.

I have stepped back from the ledge. I have found Jesus. I think office space should be elsewhere. Like, on that block a block south.

I am really surprised that the parking lot on the east side of the Young Quinlan block has not been developed... It is virtually a 100% location in terms of core access and transit...it is a very big lot... I realize that much of the development decisions are based on property values and whether they are even for sale... parking lot owners make a lot of money off of these lots. Little property maintenance or investment required... just revenue...

The skyway through TCF Tower and the TCF Building has been renovated. New carpet now with much more padding, new wall paint with some raised artsy design stuff.

It gets a little too close to the Foshay for my taste. I think it would look fine on the Young-Quinlan half block, though.
