Yesterday I saw that they have started putting the glass in the windows that are filling the old openings. It seems that they will be flush with the exterior brick. Where as the lower existing windows are set back about 1/2 way in the wall. This looks bad. Lipstick on a pig.

My company recently looked at this building as a potential new location. From what I gathered from those on the tour and the decision makers it was quickly decided "No".

Here is a photos of the windows, which I agree with the previous post. Does look goofy.

I'll regret saying this,

Ryan needs to start hiring outside architecture firms when it comes to historic renovations. Or just not do them in like, less than a year of planning, like this one. How do you do a pretty good job on Millwright and then do... this?

It's just bizarre. All they needed to do was set those windows back, like, three or four inches, and it would have looked fine.

Ryan isn't the Architect on TCF just the GC.

Funny thing is... they DID setback the window above the skyway. Terrible job.

And this is why I knew I would regret saying it.

Uh, they're not some sort of wonder firm. Case in point: the proposed Health Sciences Education Center at the U Image

Works well enough with the building behind it.

They took the plastic off the other day and I really don't understand what's going on here. First off, what's with the white paint? Then they have this video playing thats not even centered on anything and just looks like complete garbage. Didn't appear to be any event or anything as it looks the same as it did before they took the plastic off (i peaked in a few times). :?

It looks like one of those HGTV shows where they renovate with a few buckets of paint.

I always kind of wondered what they were doing behind that wall. I had hoped they were doing something to make keeping this building worthwhile. However, it seems to have fallen even more from the once proposed tower...

I just can't believe that Perkins + Will did this. The Minneapolis firm seems like it's kind of falling out of the top design ranks.
